My flight out of LaGuardia was canceled and I needed to find a hotel. Unfortunately I did not have access to reviews - otherwise I probably would not have stayed here. The staff seemed ok, and granted I did not complain because with all the cancelled flights, the hotel was packed and I probably got the last room in the place. It definitely was not in the renovated section. Here were my experiences:
- I walked into my room and it smelled like urine. No kidding. (I would have requested another room or just left, but at that point I was just happy not to be sleeping at the airport).
- I then noticed there were pubic hairs on my bathroom floor. Totally gross, but I picked them up with some toilet paper.
- I could barely close the drapes. Had to fight with them for about 10 minutes.
- TV did not have reception for ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. Only for "cable" type channels.
- Continental breakfast was disgusting. There were half eaten bagels and dirty napkins sitting on top of the food that was to be eaten. The tables weren't cleaned and it just did not make me want to eat.
- The "free wireless" in my room got a signal that varied between fair and poor. It was mostly poor and I was not able to get any work done. I told the front desk - they restarted the router and that did nothing. Mind you - I was two rooms away from the router, so my signal should have been great. I ended up leaving early so I could pay for internet access at the airport.
I don't normally take the time to do something like this, but my experience was so bad I wanted to make sure others don't have to go through the same!
