“Sweet wine and people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

I had a great experience at this winery. I had visited several wineries the same day. This one was extremely charming and had a great selection of sweet fruit wines. The manager who served us the varieties of wine explained each wine in depth and was just such a pleasant woman. I really enjoyed my trip and would recommend the tree shaking white wine.

“Unique because almost all wines are made with fruit, but not grapes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

A piece of trivia I did not know, all the fruit comes from Red Jacket Orchards up in Geneva. Red Jacket pure fruit juices and nectars and sold in all the Greenmarkets in NY. Anyway, these come in half bottle sizes and are perfect for sampling. Particularly good are the cherry, strawberry, blueberry, & pear.

“Sweet wine delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

My husband and I love sweet wine. This was our second trip to the Seneca Lake wineries. First time visit to this winery. We loved their sweet wine especially the apple-raspberry. It is not a fancy place nor is there a spectacular view of the lake, however as far as wines go, we were happy to visit there and taste the fruits of their labor.

“If you like sweet wines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We are veteran wine tour people, having visited countless wineries in the Finger Lakes region over the past many years. We have seen them all, and recognize that the most ostentatious-looking wineries are sometimes the worst in terms of wine quality. We have a rule of thumb that the more flags and fanfare when you approach, the greater the risk of bad wine. Of course, Fruit Yard is very modest looking and plain, which piqued our interest. We'd somehow passed it by on our travels previously. We are sweet wine drinkers, and have only found good sweet wines in Colorado and Missouri during our travels. We tasted five wines (and the young man offered us a free sixth wine as well) and three or four of them were just excellent--a good percentage rating. Sometimes we'll try five wines and they're all terrible. The sweet Chardonnay was great, also the Nectar and one other one I can't remember. They were out of their best seller, the Cherry. Highly recommend the courteous servers and staff (and the wine).

“Neat little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

One of the smallest wineries in the area, but still pretty neat. The inside is well done and very welcoming. The lady working was very personable and knowledgeable. The wines were interesting but very good. I'd recommend fruit yard
