“Informal, lively, innovative and family friendly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Umami explores food and flavor in a unique way, but serves it with good cheer and no pretensions. Love it. Nice selections of wine and beer, addictive home made potato chips.

“Pre Blaze dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We also were going to Blaze. Restaurant has a very eclectic & interesting menu. I would certainly go back there even without a blaze evening The Mac & cheese was well worth the calories. The duck quesadilla was also terrific

“Good local fare”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Haven't tried Umami in years after a disappointing first meal there; went back during our power outage and were very pleasantly surprised. Despite being overwhelmed by the multitude of homeowners looking for warmth, light and a hot meal, everyone at the restaurant was very welcoming and friendly and the food arrived relatively quickly. My husband had ordered the yaki udon and I had ordered something that turned out to be more "udon-like", so after switching our meals, we were both quite satisfied if not overly impressed with our meal. Definitely worth adding to the embarrassingly short list of decent places to eat in the area.

“Great fusion food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We were going to the great jack o lantern blaze and were kinda crunched for time, so we were looking for some place quick. The food at umami cafe was really good with a variety of choices and everything we had was great! I had the yaki udon noodles and the were really very good! The service was great, for six of us it took about 10 mobs for our food, and we made it to the jack o lantern blaze on time! Highly recommend umami cafe

“Embarrassed by waitstaff and ownership”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Was completely embarrased by waitstaff and owner when tried to redeem a $20 coupon given to us as a gift for returning back from a deployment in Afghanistan. It was a monday night and they completely embarrassed us when we asked why they could not honor the coupon. The owner threw his hands in the air and made a big sceen. Horrible time!!!!!!!
