“Not too bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

Stopped here on the way home from Toronto. Room was clean and comfy, bathroom OK but the shower was nice. Would easily stay here again.

Nice and close to SUNY Cortland, which was the reason for our visit. The hotel is in decent shape, front desk staff were very friendly. Breakfast was basic but free. Only real complaint was very thin walls. Could easily hear people's conversations in next room and room above us was loud with footsteps.

Stayed one night while visitng college. Service was ok. The rooms are ok, the mattress was terrible and bathrooms need to be renovated.

This property is old, but has been remodeled. Room size was adequate, but felt a bit small. The mattresses are the new style with big comfy quilted toppers. Carpet is old and needed cleaning. There is excellent iced tea, as well as hot tea and coffee and snacks such as cookies, fresh fruit available in the lobby almost 24/7. Breakfast was fine w/toast, bagels, cereal, apples/oranges, plenty of packaged pastries, yogurt and a really gross bowl of hard boiled eggs (sorry, just couldn't imagine who might have already touched them and wondered whether they were left over from yesterday or the day before). We were disappointed that there was no pool, but were directed to Yaman Park across the street and discovered a delightful little beach and man-made lake that far exceeded any pool. Also, admission to the park was free! That said, there is no public restroom in the lobby. This is a major problem for a family with three teenagers....when one is in the shower, there is no alternative toilet to be found. Also if you are downstairs in the lobby for breakfast and need a bathroom....back to the room you must trudge. And don't checkout and think you can make one more stop at the bathroom lobby before you hit the road.....you get the idea, such a small thing as a lack of public facilities can become one big negative! We had a short two night stay and if I couldn't stay at the Hampton or Country Inns & Suites next time, this will do.

We decided to take a short trip to western NY during school vacation week. We picked Quality Inn because it was close to the things we wanted to see, the price was right, and the hotel is pet friendly. It was perfectly adequate - not luxurious but we weren't expecting luxury. We wondered how quiet it would be, being so close to the highway, but it was very quiet. The room was clean and since we had our dog, they put us close to an exit door. Much appreciated!! The room was small and a little outdated but the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, breads and pastries and lots of freshly made coffee. We'd stay again if we were headed that way.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2009

We were excited to find the hotel for under $90 when others in the area wanted to charge us closer to $175. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and they let us check in VERY early in the morning. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is VERY outdated, sink has no counter space to put toiletries, shower didn't work well (however they did fix it for us), pretty clean but not spotless. Bathroom door had to be slammed shut to close. Overall, I just felt like we were staying somewhere in the late 80's. I will stay there again if I can't find anything else cheaper. Not a bad experience.

Quiet, clean, pleasant and friendly - no surprises - our room was immaculate and we enjoyed our one night visit driving back to Canada from Southwest Forida....24 hour coffee, tea and cookies as well as a lovely breakfast room with ample choices - even healthy ones - while sitting beside the cosy fireplace. We have decided to put Cortland on our itinerary for an overnight stop each year. Front Desk recommended Amelia's restaurant for dinner and we had an absolutely wonderful evening in this local Italian restaurant. Can't complain about a thing! We will be back!
