Was with a group of 6 friends to Cortland and originally planned to visit a different restaurant but when we got there it was closed for renovation, so we went to Amelia's.
The food was not cheap, and disappointingly not particularly good. Ok at best. But one of my friends ordered a signature dish that came out so over salted it was completely inedible. Not to be pushy, all of us tasted it to see if we could trade with her - but it was just so bad there was no choice but to send it back. When the bill came the dish was on it. When we insisted the waitress take it off since it was terrible and it was sent back barely touched, she said she was not allowed to do that - we couldn't believe it and informed her we were not paying for it. The lady manager then came over and rudely told us that they don't refund "for taste". They only refund if there "is something wrong with a dish" and then made up some ridiculous story how 15 other people ordered that same dish that day and didn't complain so it's our problem we didn't like it. Who acts this way? A restaurant that doesn't care if people eating there like the food? Order at your own risk basically? These people are insane. They have no pride in their food, no interest in customer service. No shame either - this manager actually said these things to us in earshot of all the other diners near our table. You'd think it would be embarrassing for a business to publicly convey that kind of attitude. Weird. Rude. How it has survived this long is beyond me. Would never go back to this place, ever. Unbelievable.
