“Local 'hole in the wall' diner with good food and service inside.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

You would never know what the food is like if you were to pass judgement based upon the exterior. DO GO inside. Had good club sandwiches served with a pickle and 'fresh cut fries, ' cooked through, but NOT overdone. Serving size average. A BLT came with bacon done to perfection. Coffee was average. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable and made recommendations after talking with us. No frills here. Stools at a counter and booth seating available.

“OMG the Home Fries are out of this world...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2009

Imagine if you will, golden brown nuggets, crusty on the outside and soft, warm and flavorful on the inside, tossed with salt and pepper, drizzled with a rich sauté of green peppers and onions...

We stumbled on AJ's driving our folks from Webster NY to PA. Couldn't find a decent restaurant open in Cortland on Tuesday of last week. There was AJ's on the way out of town, a little ratty on the outside, but the crush of cars parked all around gave us hope that there was good eating inside. We were not disappointed.

Once inside we found it clean, warm and inviting. We ordered, and waited (a little too long). When our food arrived, all three dishes were warm, the food fresh, honest and hearty. My 3 over easy eggs were perfect, and as mentioned the potatoes were out of this world. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

AJ's is now on our list of 'Must Stop' on the trip to Rochester/Webster from PA.

Keep up the good work!!

P.S. My wife, mother and father-in-law are on their way back up to Webster, and hare hoping to stop in for Lunch, sorry I am not with them!

“Great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2008

This a great place to go for breakfast. The menu has all the standards for a diner and executes them well. I had the eggs over easy, homefries and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Service is friendly and appropriately attentive. Be advised, the outside of this place is run-down. The inside is clean, freshly painted, and comfortable. You seat yourself. We arrived at 10am and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. It was worth it.
