“Drinks/Appetizer - Fun/Friendly Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We were early for a dinner reservation we had elsewhere and decided to stop into Doubleday Cafe for a drink/appetizer. The place was bustling and people were having a good time. We ordered some higher end chardonnay wines and were going to order an appetizer until we noticed they offered free popcorn to patrons and decided to have that instead as to not spoil dinner (not due to cost of the appetizer). The bartender was friendly and actually went off shift and when she did she offered us a holiday 'cheers' (Thanksgiving weekend) which we gladly obliged and returned the cheer. The place was warm, friendly and definitely family friendly and there were many families with children dinning in the dinning room. Nice/friendly place for eats/drinks/appetizers/popcorn.

“Friendly local place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Being off-season and with locals, I think we got the best food and service possible.

Everything was fresh, the French Onion Soup was Awesome and warming on a cold day!

“Fun "American" food in Cooperstown.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

Be it sandwiches, salads, burgers, or more exotic fare, one can enjoy a quick meal and a good beer at Doubledays'. It is a fun place, filled with folks enjoying their food and each other. I always enjoy myself there. The food is fresh and tasty and it is not expensive.

“Has a good feel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

We went there for lunch; sat at the bar; had a couple of beers; enjoyed the burgers. I liked the fact that it had a locals feel even though it obviously catered to visitors. It's in the center of the town and a block from the HOF. It has a nice casual atmosphere and is set in an old historical building on Main St.

“It is part of our annual trip to Cooperstown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

It has been 3 years running that the Doubleday Cafe has been part of trip to Cooperstown. The first time it was just because it looked alright and it was right in the center of downtown. Now, it is because we like most everything about the place. Friendly staff that make you feel like you are a regular. Excellent and creative pub fare that keeps things interesting and satisfying. Don't let me forget desert. I am in love with their bread pudding. It is one of the best I've ever had. Yummmm!
