“Great Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

This was our second stay at the Landmark Inn and the new ownership has made some great improvements. Robin is AWESOME! Had a great time just chatting with her during breakfast and she did a fantastic job in the preparation and presentation of the meal. HIGHLY recommend staying here if not just for the peace and quiet. The cookies that are put out in the afternoon are so good. Cannot wait to get back in the summer once the snow melts but the Inn is absolutely stunning at night.

Room Tip: Dream Shower. Enough Said.

Thank you Justin, and thanks for the compliment on the cookies. Those orange shortbread chocolate chip cookies are prepared fresh every day by Chef Vita and - if you ask Fred - "There's never any left ! grumble, grumble"! Come see us in summer. The side porch/garden will have a new fountain, and the flowers will all be in bloom. After this long winter, we can hardly wait!

Warm Wishes,

Robin

We arrived and the first person to greet us was Amy, she is warm and friendly. She then showed us to our room (number ten) This room has a private entrance with a ramp to the door. The room is decorated in a Key West theme. It even has books on the table written by Jimmy Buffet. My wife and I enjoyed the "Dream Shower" so much that now I have to install one in my house. Amy suggest some local restaurants which turned out to be perfect for us. During breakfast we had the pleasure to meet Robin the inn keeper. Her and her husband have recently purchased the inn and have done wonders with it. The breakfast was wonderful, they only use fresh local produce and eggs from around the corner. Even the coffee is blended local. I want to thank everyone at the inn for the wonderful stay. When we get our own Inn we will be using the same recipe they used at the Landmark to make the guest feel like friends.

Hello to our new "Future Innkeeper" Friends! Thank you so much for for all the conversation. It was wonderful to hear about your aspirations to own an Inn and to share some of our new experiences. We hope your dream comes true, and we hope you are blessed with the same kind of great guests that we are! It really makes being an innkeeper a very special career. Let us know how your journey goes, please. And come see us soon.

Cant say enough...I will definitely be going back. Such a nice place to stay. The owners were so nice and accommodating. We stayed a few nights, beginning on New Years Eve. The owner helped us find places to go eat, and also went out of her way to help us find a safe route to Niagara Falls, since a big snow storm hit the area the night before we were departing. When we left the Inn was closing for a couple weeks to add on a new suite. I can't wait to go back and see the new addition.
See you in the spring or Fall : )

Room Tip: The "Chance" suite was fabulous. We absolutely loved it. We will book this room again when...

Hello to our new friends from NJ! We were very touched by your stories of SS Sandy and what you all endured. We trust you made it to Niagara Falls without incident and that the view was all you hoped it would be. Check out our FB page for pictures of the new suite. We would LOVE to host you in it whenever you find the chance to come back.

Warm wishes,

Robin

We did the 2 Night Winter Package for my husband's birthday and it was AWESOME!! Our room was beautiful, the bed was so cozy, the package included 2 tickets to the Baseball Hall of Fame, a $50 gift certificate to Toscana Italian Fusion and Grill, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.Such a great value!! The breakfasts were TO DIE FOR. DELICIOUS!! And everyone was so friendly!! Wonderful service, wonderful room, wonderful people, wonderful everything!! I know I'm using a lot of exclamation points but I'm serious, this place was absolutely wonderful. It snowed overnight and they brushed off our truck. I wanted stay and just live there. I accidentaly rated them for a swimming pool but they don't have one, so ignore that... but if they had a swimming pool it would probably be just as awesome as everything else.

Oh my word. Thank you. You made Fred's and Vita's day. I asked Fred why he brushes the snow off guests' cars whenever he can and he said, "I just always think it's another way to say thank you." And Vita LOVES hearing her breakfasts are "to die for." We're blessed you let us spoil you for a few days with our winter package. Come see us soon!

We spent one wonderful night at the Landmark Inn. The inn was everything we have come expect in a quality bed and breakfast. The inn is a stately old home in impeccable condition. Our room was clean and spacious with period furnishings with a wonderfully updated en suite bathroom. The proprietor was warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ample and delicious. We would highly recommend a visit to the landmark inn.

Thank you Christine! You hit on one of the great things about staying at a top-shelf B&B, and that's that it can STILL be a classic, but also a wonderfully updated one! So much of our Inn is original to the house (including the buffet in our elegant leaded-glass dining room which appears in original pictures of the Inn) yet our bedrooms are plush and modern and many of our bathrooms have opulent 2-person Dream Showers that compete with the best resorts of the world. While our living room, with its beautiful original fireplace, is comfortable and welcoming, many of our rooms contain private sitting areas for those hours when you'd just like to curl up in one of our new robes (coming in April) and read a great book. We've made a lot of improvements to the Inn this past year, but we're not done yet! In 2015 we'll be adding fireplaces to three of our rooms for the perfect winter get-away. THAT's what B&B's do. Come see us soon!

We stayed at Landmark Inn for 2 nights before Christmas and decided to stay another night a few days later on our way back home. Cooperstown is a delightful village, and Landmark Inn was the perfect place to stay. It is a lovely large house that has been beautifully restored and updated and is a short walk from Main Street with shops and restaurants and, most importantly, the Baseball Hall of Fame. Robin and her staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were grateful for an early breakfast one day before a long drive. The two rooms we had (St Somewhere and Twain) were cozy and comfortable with lovely bathrooms - with plenty of room for our stuff. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 10, or St Somewhere, which is located outside the main house. A large and comfort...

Thank you Sarah for all those nice words but somehow WE should be writing a review of YOU! We could not have asked for nicer guests over the holidays. We give YOU 5 stars! And we took it as the ultimate compliment that when whether got in your way, you circled all the way back to the Landmark for a second stay. Wow! Thank you.

At first discovery, I was hesitant about the price asked for a B&B. Because it was high season, mid-August, even the most basic of Motels had inflated rates.
After reading several reviews on Trip, I decided to check out Landmark's website, rooms and prices a lot more closely. Took the plunge and ended up thanking my lucky 'stars and stripes' !
A Cooperstown visit is made that much better when you have the kind of hospitality afforded at this MVP of a B& B. It is an All-Star. I have never stayed at a nicer B&B anywhere.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Bedding and linen top notch. Ample free parking and a short walk to the main strip and the Hall of Fame. After a long day on our feet, touring the Hall and the stores, we were grateful our Hostess provided us with nearby dinner suggestions. We came back to the Inn after dinner and enjoyed Baseball movies available on DVD in the living room and chillaxed on big leather Laz-E-Boy chairs. Next morning's Breakfast began with an outrageous (i.e. delicious!) cantaloupe soup followed by blueberry pancakes and bacon. Yum yum! This is def. THE place to stay!

Room Tip: Even if you arrive early, they will probably let you park on the property so you can leave the car a...

Well, geese Tommy from Toronto, we're not THAT expensive! :)

Seriously, thank you for all the kind words. We loved the MVP reference, though we remain humble and focused on each guest. Fred says to remind you to, "Send Reyes back to the Mets, but you can keep Dickey."

Come see us again, real soon.
