My wife, son (a 20-year-old baseball junkie) and I visited here 8/09 and certainly weren't blown away. The location and site were fine but something was missing. Even my son couldn't put a finger on it, just saying he was expecting something....different. Maybe one of the earlier reviewers was right, the place needed more videos. Parking was at a premium, though we were lucky snagging a spot not two blocks from the entrance. It probably helped that we arrived right around opening time. The HOF website is probably correct, suggesting a shuttle for more convenient logistics. We were pleasantly surprised at a large turnout, given it was a Monday morning.

If you are a baseball fan -- youll love the Hall of Fame. I really enjoyed it ... but the HOF really needs to use more video. There are so many clips, plays, players -- that should be shown. The Football Hall of Fame has a video presentation on every player -- that you can use a touch screen to see. (Even the football hall does not nearly use enough -- considering that the NFL films has taped and saved everything for years).

My kids -- who are growing up in the electronic age -- would have loved to see video of Joe D., Gehrig -- even Aaron, Seaver and Mantle.

I am sure there are many wonderful reviews for this so my review is to those who like myself enjoy the game but would not travel to Cooperstown to visit this museum. MY ADVICE: Make sure you visit. It is a very well laid out museum with incredible displays. If you have even the slightest interest in baseball, you will leave ready to go home and watch your local team; professional or little league. If you have no interest in baseball, I assure you at least one or two displays will draw you in -- perhaps for what the player overcame to play the sport. It is a must see visit when in Cooperstown.

I grew up about 20 miles from the Hall of Fame so I had been there a lot as a kid, but its been about 12 years since my last visit. I cant believe how it seems more beautiful than the last time I visited. It seems we remember things being much more amazing when we see them as kids and then when we are older they are not and we can feel disappointed, with the Hall of Fame thats not the case at all. This place is a shrine to all the great players and the sport that symbolizes this great country we live in. I dont know how else to explain it, but if you havent been here you need to get here.

Everything about the museum was great. It has A LOT of things and you could easily spend all day in there I believe. My only complaint was this: they were opening up a new exhibit and they had a big press event scheduled. So they closed a rather large section of the museum all day--not just the next exhibit but a large part of the 2nd floor for a press party. For folks like us that came from Alabama and had only one day that meant we never got to see everything that was behind the ropes.
