If you grew up by the TV or radio, glued to each pitch, each inning, and the outcome of that game affected your whole attitude for the next 24 hours or so..whenever the next game was, then you are, as I am, as my son & Wife are....a baseball junkie!!! The heroes of the past come to life in front of you! Name it.. Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Mike Schmidt, even Shoeless Joe Jackson, Whomever.. you will, from the exhibits, get more insight about them and their lives than you could possibly imagine! There is plenty of multimedia..You can laugh to "Who's on First" again, for the umpteen billionth time. Learn about the leagues outside of our great country, learn about the Woman's leagues and the way they kept a degree of baseball going douring the second World War.. Learn about the Negro Leagues and Jackie Robinson & Larry Doby's early times and what these guys went through... You will even see the Philly Fanatic!! As you walk through this palace of the Great American Pastime, you cannot help but feel humbled to be in the same room as all of this. It's not just about hall of fame members. Anybody who is a contributing part of the sport is very well represented..it's all about baseball and if you are addicted to the sport, you need to go.
It's also good to know that Cooperstown is a fun destination, if you can tear yourself away from the hall long enough, there's plenty to do and lots to buy and eat! What are you waiting for ?? Stop reading this stuff and just go there already! BTW we have been back several times and seem to enjoy it more each time..
