Last fall, we were visiting the Hudson River Valley and wanted to find some good Italian food. We always find it a challenge on vacation to locate a restaurant that knows how to make real Italian food. We ended up in the small river town of Cold Spring and decided to take a chance by stopping at Angelina's Pizza which is located in a plaza on Chestnut Street (Route 9D). What a GREAT decision!!
The restaurant is located in a shopping strip and is nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, there are two things that make this place outstanding. First is the incredible food. We're talking real food, homemade from the pizza to the pasta, the entrees, sauces, desserts, etc. Everything is fresh and absolutely delicious. The hardest part is trying to decide what to eat.
The second thing is the owner and his staff. They are SO friendly and welcoming that you feel like they know you even though you're a total stranger. I don't know when we've felt more comfortable visiting a new restaurant. And after we told them we were from Ohio and looking for some additional info on the area, the owner called his wife to ask her to bring a local magazine to the restaurant for us. And she did!! She also brought along their lovely kids, so we had a chance to meet and talk with the whole family. Unbelievable!!
So, if you looking for wonderful food, great people and a very enjoyable dining experience, don't miss Angelina's in Cold Spring, NY. I promise you will love it!!
