“Wedding Weekend”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

I currently had my wedding up at the Peek and although it turned out beautiful the problems were endless. The entire hotel was under construction, our guests had items stolen out of their rooms, our wedding coordinator was constantly rude to my family and myself, our curtains were falling off the windows, there was not shower head in any of the showers, the service in the restaurant was awful, there were bee hives and ants everywhere on the resort (we even had to move some rooms around due to this)... the list goes on and on! This was suppose to be a getaway weekend and all my family and friends did was deal with one problem after the next. Like I said the wedding and events were beautiful because the venue is gorgeous, however if you are looking to have a relaxing event you are looking at the wrong place!

Hotel is undergoing renovations so it is a work in progress. Front desk put us in a condo since rooms with AC were sold out upon our arrival. Condos are great! Service at this hotel is kind and courteous. Pool area is great - two lifeguards on duty. All in all a very nice place to have a conference. Very pretty area of the country to be in as well.

We stayed in one of the condos over Memorial Day weekend, with extended family including 3 kids. I made the reservation by email and the representative was awesome, and quickly answered all my questions. They even let us check in 4 hours early when we called to inquire the day before The condo was well equipped with linens and extra pillow and blankets. And the sofa bed was already made up when we unfolded it. We used the pool everyday and the indoor and outdoor playgrounds. My only complaint is that the outdoor pool doesn't open until 11:00 am on weekends and 12:00 pm on weekdays. Although on Memorial Day they did open it at 11:00 instead of 12:00.

Made reservations for a Spring Getaway at the Lodge. The price was very reasonable and upon check-in you received a voucher for $30.00 toward food at any of the restaurants. Upon check in we found out we would have to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs and a stairwell. They did offer assistance if we needed it. When we opened the room it was apparent that things had not been taken care of for some time. The couch was bowed and dusty and looked like it had been there from the 70's. There was the couch a desk were half of the vaneer was missing or scraped off there was a sticky substance that had been spilled down the front and not cleaned. The lamp had a glass table attached with a used candy wrapper on it in plain view. After we wiped every thing off, I was filling my pill box and dropped a pill, my two daughters looked on the floor and found a pill on the floor "Not mine" it was not under anything so it had not been vacuumed at all. It was so very sad to see the place in such disrepair. We were told that it had just been taken over by a new company I hope they help restore this magnificent place to it's former glory.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for ground floor as there are not elevators, escalators or even luggage dollies.

Our family looks forward to our trips to Peek n' Peak every year. Skiing, snowboarding, swimming,outdoor/indoor hot tub, excellent dinners and breakfast buffets all close enough to make it the perfect winter get away for Western New Yorkers. This year we even got a package for very little money that included passes to Erie,PA's Splash Lagoon Waterpark. We had a wonderful time for very little cost.

We spent super bowl Sunday at the Resort & Spa. Got off to a bumpy start with the first room reserved, but the staff took care of it by getting us another room. I wouldn't recommend the rooms with the balcony and loft beds. They are really outdated and our room literally reeked of smoke (non-smoking room) and it was getting all of us sick. The window by the door to the balcony was also broken with tape holding it together and a hand made sign. We switched to a normal room with a view of the slopes. Room was clean and nice. Dinner at the Pub was very good, food was great and staff was friendly. We used the $30 food voucher to pay for part of the meal. This was our first time tubing with our 10 and 8 yr. olds. It was slick, but added to our fun. The staff was very friendly at the slopes. 4 of us went down together, but staffed warned us to slow ourselves down as we went down because of being in a group. Bar even made us hot chocolate for us even though it was close to 10pm when we left the slopes. Pool was really nice and the hot tub is definitely worth the experience. Kids had fun at the arcade too. The trip would have been a bust if the staff didn't find us a new room. But they saved the weekend and it was a great family get a way.

Room Tip: Do NOT pick the balcony/loft rooms. They are straight from the 1960's

My family of 19 stayed at this ragedy place and we had a horrible expierence with little compensation. 9 of our family members, mostly children, decided to go snow tubing. The 9 members connected their tubes together, went down the slopes and the nightmare began! The tubes flew down the slope like a missle! Instead of snow they were on ice and despite thier efforts to stop the tube with their feet, it rocketed down the slope and went under the protective barrier, flew down a cliff and into the street with on coming traffic! Everyone went head first down the cliff with half the people landing in the ditch and the other half in the street. Family members left in ambulances with head injuries and everyone had, neck/back pain, sprains and alot of scrapes brusing and swelling! Bystanders had to alert the staff, It was hard to get management to talk to us and get papers documenting the accident. The managers seemed unapologetic avoided us completely and came off like our accident was not a big deal. I would not reccomend this motel to anyone, it was outdated, over priced and very neglegent!
