“Nola's is nice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Nola's in Clinton, NY, is back in business- and it's doing great! We had lunch here on a hot Friday in May. It was quiet in the village but Nola's had a good crowd enjoying the very nicely decorated dining room. We were greeted promptly and warmly and asked for our drink order. Very shortly thereafter our server Holly arrived, a delightful young woman who was efficient, friendly and helpful. We had our choice from the nice menu selections plus the specials for the day. I chose the shrimp and lobster bisque, my wife the ham, apple and brie sandwich, my sister and her husband had the fish special and she the grilled cheese and salad. All dishes came quickly and were very flavorful. Holly returned to check on us frequently and kept my coffee cup filled. Prices were very reasonable.
All in all, this was a delightful dining experience! Thank you Holly!

“Excellent Local Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

A quaint little restaurant in a quaint little town!

We had a reservation for a fairly large party on a very busy night, so it wasn't surprising that they were a bit behind and our table wasn't ready when we arrived. It's a very small place, and if people linger, tables don't open up as quickly as planned. No big problem, we were all planning to spend most of the evening there anyway, so we hung around the bar, had a drink, and some conversation.

The staff was very apologetic and accommodating, and even paid for our first round of drinks because we had to wait about 30-40 mins. Very nice, and we appreciated it, but surprising nowadays!

Our server was great and couldn't have been more attentive or helpful.

I had the Flat Iron Steak (with new potatoes, asparagus and blue cheese gratin, and fried leeks) ... cooked perfectly to "medium" ... served with a house salad and a bread basket ... delicious!

Everyone in our party of 8 seemed to enjoy their food, and all had a great time!

If you're in Clinton, this is the place to go for an above average meal.

“Small town atmosphere, Big city dining”

As innkeepers in Clinton, NY, one of our daily requests is to recommend a restaurant to our guests. Since Nola's in Clinton reopened recently after being closed for a remodel, we decided to treat ourselves to an evening out and see what the "new" Nola's looked was all about. We were not disappointed, in fact we thought that the decor looked even better than before. We especially liked the new color scheme and the very chic and comfortable new dining chairs. We were also pleased with our menu selections. One of us ordered the house standby of "Lobster Mac 'n Cheese" and one of us had the nightly special, which was Scallops. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. We especially like that Nola's includes a house salad with your entrée as well as warm bread with butter. Outside tables are available in the warmer months but our favorite is a seat in the window overlooking the village green.
