“Local Hotspot for Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

With so many good restaurants in southern Saratoga County, you have to visit Salty's in Halfmoon, NY (Clifton Park mailing address). While not the least expensive place locally, you get huge portions of what many local residents feel are as close to great home cooked food as you'll find in the area. Most leave with a doggie bag for another meal. This was our second visit, but we know many locals that see the place as their favorite for a good meal. The aging pub type facility has a unique nautical feel with a large fish tank over a well stocked bar with many draft beer choices. Lots of good menu choices with many of the classic favorites like "Mom's" meatloaf or roast turkey dinners. A great place to bring your family for some well prepared tasty food.

“Always terrific food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Our favorite restaurant. Been here frequently for lunch and dinner. Looks like an informal pub but the food is beautifully prepared and the presentation is gorgeous. Portion size is enormous. John, the chef-owner, is always trying new dishes but also excels at the standards. No doubt their fish and chips are the best we have ever been served anywhere! We bring friends here and the next time we get together with them they insist on going back. Prices are more than fair for quality and quantity. I usually bring half my meal home for another day. Our servers have always been pleasant and efficient.

“Great food”

From burgers to steak, can't go wrong here. And if you do not like, they will gladly replace the dish. Great service.

“Excellent food, place needs to be spiffed up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Went for dinner this week with a couple of friends. I ordered the broiled scallops because I've had them here before and they are delicious. They did not disappoint. They give you plenty in the dish and they are served with either rice or potatoes and veggie. Our waitress asked if we wanted bread and then never brought us any. Brought two baskets to table next to ours, though. Staff needs to be trained better for sure. The place needs to be spiffed up a bit. The plastic coated tablecloths are very old and there was splattered food stains on spindles next to table. A good cleaning would go a long way. The food here is very good compared to years ago but there are a bunch of little things that need some attention from management.
