“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

I had a bad experience at the restaurant that is attached but the Hotel made good on a Free stay AND free breakfast and dinner. They are true to their word and the staff is wonderful there. The food in the restaurant is a bit high priced (meatloaf with a medium sized scoop of mashed) at $19.50. The selection of foods is odd and not the fare you would find in most restaurants. I have eaten the meatloaf and another time, the roast chicken. Both were good, but over priced. The hotel is very clean and although I had only been there one night, the maid service happily changed my sheets when I asked. (My daughter spent one night with me and was sneezing all night so I wanted fresh sheets) A night's stay with Triple A ran me around $107 for the Hotel and for that price, great value since a Motel these days charges almost the same but lack in cleanliness. NOTE* This location only opened in December but it is attached to a mall so parking is hard to find during mall hours, theater hours and dining hours of the restaurant. If you are disabled as I am, it was hard to find a spot to park.
ANOTHER NOTE*The garden sleep system they have on the beds is AMAZING!

Room Tip: Ask for one NOT facing the roof. Not much on a view from this Hotel. It is attached to a mall and th...

We stayed in this hotel two weekends in a row. It is brand new. The lobby was beautiful with a lovely fireplace and many sectional sofas for cozy reading or conversation. The rooms were immaculate with the Garden Sleep System which is similiar to my Sleep Number Bed. The bedding was crisp and clean. The hotel has an on site restaurant that we did not use however, we did have a drink at the bar for St. Patrick's Day. It was very nice with a friendly bartender and the drink prices were reasonable. The hotel staff was very friendly and even remembered us from the week before. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, fridge, and small microwave. There is an inside pool and spa and an exercise room. Anyone looking for a free breakfast is out of luck however, the other ammedities outweigh bagels and toast anyday. The restaurant serves breakfast. The hotel is in front of a mall and there are entrances to the mall for easy access. The ONLY issue that I had with this hotel was the parking. Since the hotel is connected to a mall parking anywhere close to it is difficult during the hours that the mall is open. I'm going back this weekend and again in three weeks and plan on staying here again. I had intended to stay in a cheaper hotel but, this one won me over. It is definately worth the extra money.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for a Thursday night Birthday celebration and specifically to dine at Angelo's Prime Bar and Grill in the hotel.

I agree with all the earlier reviews...all brand new and clean except we didn't get a bottle of water upon check-in as another review stated! =(

Our complaint was the beds! They are uncomfortable, even with the adjustable dial, and they are noisy! Since they were uncomfortable there was a lot of moving around during the night, waking every one in the room. They sounded like 30 year old mattress frames, rather than brand new!

The parking is also an issue, as the hotel is next to both the mall and the movie theatre. Didn't know about the back entrance to the mall.

Pool and hot tub were great for a February evening.

Meal we had at Angelo's was quite good, although the service was slow and a little strange. Bread basket, with a GREAT Saratoga cracker, was brought out AFTER our appetizer. We waited quite a bit of time between courses. My daughter's spaghetti was brought out in a can (they are into jars and cans) and then poured onto her plate. She thought it was cool, but I thought it looked like chef boyardee!

Overall, we would probably stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites across the road next time (stayed there on New Year's Eve). Beds there were fantastic and no parking issues!

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and are very interested on how you viewed your stay with us.
We are implementing new processes for parking, making it more accommodating to our travelers.
We have also contacted the Garden Sleep System manufacturer, they will be coming to inspect the beds to see why they are not as comfortable as they should be. We hope you will give the Hilton Garden Inn another try, please let us know when you are in the area again.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Clifton Park on a 2 day mid week business trip earlier this month. The reception area was nicely lite and efficiently laid out. The receptionist was very friendly and greeted guests with a cold bottle of water and cheerful, helpful attitude.

That said, parking for the property is extremely limited. There are about 20 spots at the entrance to the property and none are reserved exclusively or hotel guests. This is also where parking for the hotel's restaurant is sooo, if you don't arrive early, (re: before the end of the business day) you will be parking quite a distance from the hotel's entrance. There is a back door entrance into the hotel from the adjacent mall. So you may have to park in the mall parking lot and walk thru the mall to find the back entrance to the property. This back entrance will eventually lead you to the front desk.

Once registered, the trip to the elevators took us by the workout room and pool. Both close promptly at 10:00 so be early or wait until the morning.

The property is only 3 months old so the sitting areas and rooms were in excellent condition. That said the bed was uncomfortable, although it was 'adjustable' by adding or bleeding out air from the mattress. The rooms were comfortably furnished with all new furniture. Did I mention it is a NEW property, squeaky clean new. Everything in the property shown, from the entrance doors to the elevator to the carpet in the hallways. This was exceptionally nice

There is a nice restaurant (Angelo's Steak House) on site that offered a relief from the chain and fast food found in the immediate area. While offering a nice selection of food on the menu, the service was slow to seat us. We to check on table availability and were told the wait was 20 minutes and that we could sit in the waiting area of the lobby. Unfortunately we did not get seated for over an hour. You probably need to make reservations well in advance. The menu was ala cart but offered a wide range of selections from about $10 to $35 for entree's. Service was good, knowledgeable about preparation and cooking techniques, but was also a bit slow, probably due to a private party in an adjacent private dining room.

Overall the property was very nice. Being brand new, the accoutrements were in excellent condition and service was cordial, offering assistance with a professional, friendly attitude. Parking is a drawback if you have lots to bring in or are have limited mobility without a handicap pass. Angelo's Steakhouse, the on site restaurant offers a nice dinner menu, but call ahead to avoid a long wait. Overall I would return for a second visit if I were in the area again.

Exactly what you would expect from a new Hilton Garden Inn hotel. Very nice rooms, fitness center is well equipped as is the business center. The staff was excellent. I do not find the Hilton beds all that comfortable. The restaurant was always busy but the food was excellent and room service was quick. The burgers are as superb! There are also many choices for restaurants close including one of my favorites-Buffalo Wild Wings-that is a short walk. The only bad thing about the hotel is the parking. It is hit or miss during the week but on Friday and Saturday night it will be hard to find any spaces close. Besides the parking the hotel is excellent.

Stayed in January for three days on business, it made for a relaxing stay after work. The staff is excellent, on the third night I asked if they had a suite I could upgrade to, with being a diamond member. They were more than happy to help me, the suites are very large for a Garden Inn. The location is great right next to the freeway and mall. the restaurant is excellent, one of the best I have experienced in a Garden Inn. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
