“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We spent two nights at the Wooden Boat Inn. There are only 6 rooms and they are quite small in size, but I don't think I've ever been in a cleaner motel room! It was more than comfortable and the location is wonderful if you want to walk around Clayton. They offer coffee, but no breakfast. No matter, there are a couple really nice breakfast places just a few minutes away. If we ever go back to the 1000 Islands, we may stay here again.

We loved this place! Spent 2 nights in room #6. It was spotless, comfortable, quiet! There is a lovely common area outside and also a porch/kitchen area. Its a very small motel (only 6 rooms) and the rooms are small but we just loved it. Its not for you if you are looking for restaurant/room service or swimming pool - but I don't think you'll find that in Clayton anyway! My husband & I wanted a quite hide-a-way and this was made for us. It was very convenient to the village and I think its the best place in town!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2011

We were attending a wedding in summer of 2009 and we booked the house and most of the rooms for our family. The owners were incredibly accommodating. At the last minute, our hosts plans for the rehearsal dinner fell through, and we ended up having about forty people for a cookout at the motel. It wasn't luxurious by any means, but there was room for all on the patio, and we had a great time. I doubt many inn owners would have welcomed such a gathering. We offered to pay for use of the facility, but they insisted that it wasn't necessary. Most of the furnishings in the house were brand new, and the motel rooms, though quite small, were immaculate. The inn is in a very quiet neighborhood, a short walk from town. We felt that we'd had a real Clayton experience. I only thought to write this review now b/c we're heading back to the 1000 Islands to visit the relatives and will be staying at the Wooden Boat Inn again.
