We stayed at the Cicero Comfort Suites in Syracuse because there were two queen beds with a pull out couch, very helpful for our tall family with a teen girl and college age boy. It had also received rave reviews overall on TripAdvisor. The room looked clean, everything fine, however I did not sleep well at all in the bed, and the major problem was waking up to find
tiny ANTS swarming out of my daughter's laptop
that she had left on the floor next to her bed. They were so tiny that they exited right around the keys. Ugh. Granted, she should not have left her laptop on the floor, however no one expects this. We did our best to get rid of them, then placed it in a large ziplock bag to make sure that they wouldn't get in the rest of our things while in the car. Her laptop is still not acting right. We told the front desk person on our way out, and she was surprised, and said she would get housekeeping on it. I do not think that it is a housekeeping issue, but an infestation of ants.
I also recommend that you not choose this hotel based on its breakfast. While very clean and well presented, there was something like Velveeta in the "omelets" and they were very salty. My husband like the "make your own waffles." Otherwise, if you are happy with cold items, the selections are limited. Three cereals, a croissant, english muffins, bran muffins, toast and bagels. The coffee is quite weak (like weak tea). The coffee from the little brewer in the room was better.
It was nice to have a beer in the evening "Manager's Reception" - there was hard liquor available as well. Also, a cookie was offered. Does not make up for the ants. We are not likely to stay here again. It gets a "two" for the ants. Without ants, a "three" because the food was a disappointment.
