“more than a days worth... at least a weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

Or maybe enough for a full week! Or return often. The three big falls are great and several smaller ones are very picturesque, like Wolf Creek or Shadow Falls (just a few steps past upper falls it get's missed sometimes). The river gorge is the star of course and you can easily get down to the riverbank - where the kayaks/rafts launch. If you can do stairs (286!) be sure to climb down to the bridge across the gorge/river just below lower falls. There are historic places like the Mary Jemison ('white indian woman of the Genesee') village site and the civil war encampment on the oft ignored west side of the park. Free admission btw on the west side with many trails and views (you can REALLY see Inspiration Falls from this side); it's just outside the Portageville exit to Letchworth Park.
Campsites are too open (especially for tenters) and disappointing, but do try to get a rustic cabin so you can explore the whole park and gorge. You'll need lots of time there.

“Spectacular Views and Serene Walks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

We love to visit in the Fall and the Winter months.
In the Fall the leaves are simply beautiful. The view up the Gorge from Inspiration point is beautiful as well.
In the winter the ice forms on the falls is a great sight to see. Picture Perfect.
If you like arts and crafts make sure to go to the Letchworth Arts and Crafts Show, held over Columbus Weekend.
The upper part of the park is filled with vendors and displays. Be prepared for a crowd, people come from all over for this show.

“Well Worth Your Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

I've been going to Letchworth for years. It boast three waterfalls, a canyon that is 400 feet deep in some places, miles and miles of trails, a good restaurant, camping and cabins, a nice little museum, plenty of picnic areas with grills, rafting down the river and beautiful scenery. That said:
You can go in any season; it's open and those views of the falls and canyon are radically different in each season. Think fall leaf colors and winter ice at the waterfalls. Only a few miles away is Silver Lake, with a state park boat launch. The local towns are small and sleepy but you don't go to Letchworth for the towns, really. But...if you are looking for a good dinner (or lunch) then motor over to the town of Perry (about five miles away) and eat at a local icon restaurant called The Hole in the Wall. It's pedigree goes back decades and the food is excellent (because it has a NYC/Paris-trained chef, not a grill-master).

“Beautiful park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

I love Letchworth! It is so beautiful, the views are amazing! The one bad thing, is AFTER you pay to get into the park, you still have to pay to use the swimming pools. It is only like 3 bucks a person, but it can add up if you have a group, and you already have to pay 8 dollars just to get into the park. Other than that, it is wonderful! Great place to explore! :)

“Busy Camping Spot but AMAZING hiking and sightseeing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Better than Niagara Falls

Very busy camping spot, a lot going on if you have kids though. organized activities for kids. dog friendly and dog free spots. relatively clean bathrooms and showers.

amazing hiking and scenery. beautiful waterfalls. good swimming if your willing to hike for it and go off trail.

park is huge and everything is very spread out. you need a car or a least a bike.
