“A wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Cobblestone Cottage and we had a fabulous trip. We stayed in the Attic Suite which was so comfortable and roomy. A lovely, airy space. The hosts were extremely friendly but not overbearing and gave great recommendations on things to do in the area. We love to hike and they suggested a wonderful place called Watkins Glen that we would never have thought of on our own. The breakfasts were superb. Fresh ingredients with a gourmet twist. A real treat! We will be back and we would highly recommend staying at this wonderful B&B. Beautiful location with fantastic views of the lake.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked amazing but we did l,ove the Attic Suite....it was really spacious with lots of...

If only we could have stayed longer. Just one night left us wanting to extend. The place is very comfortable and the food is fantastic. Ginger snaps in the afternoon and a sumptuous breakfast in the morning. Kathleen was a gracious host.

Her tip on a restaurant in town proved to be one of the best meals of our two week driving vacation.

We hope to return sometime down the road.

Room Tip: All suites are very nice. The pool was not yet open, but a glass of wine on the back deck was quite...

I was aware that there had been a change in ownership of the B&B shortly before our May, 2013 stay, and was wondering if it would still be the first-class experience described in previous reviews. No worries – it was fantastic in every way!

Kathy greeted us with cookies and tea, which gave us a sneak peek at the culinary delights in store for us at breakfast the next 2 mornings. We were also impressed by her friendly, welcoming nature. We were equally delighted by Joe when we met him the next morning at breakfast. They are a fun couple, with perfect personalities for innkeepers.

The house is magnificent, with a wonderful feel to it. The common rooms are both classy and inviting. Our room, the Honeymoon Suite, was sweet indeed – we loved its cheerful, beach-cottage decor. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, and the free wi-fi worked well. The big front porch, which affords a view of Canandaigua Lake, has ample seating areas – we brought home dinner one evening and ate out there.

The location is perfect, too – very close to the charming town and the pier (make sure you check out the colorful historic boathouses there), yet quiet and peaceful.

And last but definitely not least – the breakfasts! They are beautiful, bountiful (we skipped lunch both days), and totally gourmet. The first day Kathy started us off with a huge raspberry muffin and a sea salt and black pepper scone. The main course was the best French toast I’ve ever had, smothered with fresh blackberries and raspberries. And it came with both sausage and bacon. There was a choice of juice and coffee, too, of course. The next day’s breakfast featured a lovely fruit parfait (fresh pineapple, blackberries, grapes, bananas and apples on a yogurt base), followed by an egg bake accompanied by ham and brown sugar pecan-encrusted bacon. Which was followed by a delicious strawberry shortcake creation! Breakfasts here are truly an exceptional experience.

We can’t imagine that there’s a better place to stay in this very pretty region of the Finger Lakes.

Although we had only one night at 1837 Cobblestone Cottage Bed and Breakfast, it was a lovely and memorable home. A lot of thought and care has gone into making it a beautiful place to rest. It is smartly decorated with an eye for detail and comfort. We also found it to be very clean and neat. The breakfast was outstanding. Nancy is a good cook and since it was Memorial Day weekend she incorporated a red white and blue theme with blueberries, rasberries and vanilla yogurt into the meal. She made the waffles look like mini flags. Everything was delicious. Tom gave us a quick peek at the room used to hide slaves which was part of the Underground Railroad. It was really interesting. They both gave us good directions to get to the wedding we were attending. It was a wonderful place to stay and we hope we can go back again.

Thank you Margaret for the lovely review. Our guest hosts for the weekend did an amazing job. (Joe and I had to leave our B&B in the very capable hands of Tom and Nancy so we could attended the wedding our niece in NC.) We are looking forward to your return trip to the area.

This was our first b&b stay so we didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that if all b&bs are like this one we will never stay at another cookie cutter hotel chain again. The room was a perfect combo of modern amenities with a touch of country flare. The breakfast part of the b&b did not leave us wanting in any way shape or form. We can't wait to relive this experience for our anniversary next year.

We were thrilled with our weekend at Cobblestone. The home is absolutely gorgeous with antiques and artifacts of the original home, but all the comforts of today. The king size bed in the attic room was very comfy, the room was huge (two loveseats, a day bed, king bed, desk, and fireplace) and the bathroom stocked with supplies if we needed them. There were three sets of outside furniture we could relax on, as well as the comfy couches in the two living rooms. Blankets were set out for us as well. The biggest hit though was the breakfasts. Kathy overdid herself with amazing bacon with maple syrup and pecans, eggs done over toast with a scrumptious sauce, huge bowls of fruit, and other great dishes. We didn't need lunch either day! Kathy and Joe, you are wonderful hosts! Bravo! Definitely recommend to anyone who loves being pampered!

From the moment you step up onto its grand country porch, this Finger Lakes oasis wraps you in it's able arms and pampers you until you're refreshed and ready to continue on life's journey... The old world charm of the cobblestone facade and the rich, rustic architecture meld beautifully with the updated country decor and fresh lake air. New innkeepers Kathy and Joe have quickly perfected the art of breakfast, and truly gave us a weekend to remember. From their local brewery recommendations, to their pleasant and inviting personalities, this care-taking couple goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience.

If you're lucky enough to make it to the Canandaigua area, you won't regret a minute you spend at the - very clean, very bright, and very vibrant - cobblestone cottage!

Room Tip: We loved the dual vanity honeymoon suite!
