“What a surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We exchanged into a timeshare at Villa Roma not knowing what a delight it was going to be. We knew nothing about the resort but found out quickly we could stay busy all day with their activities or just relax at one of the many pools. We went to the site of Woodstock our first day and loved that. Only drawback was the outdated suite we were assigned. That was rectified quickly the next day when we asked if we could be moved. We were than assigned a beautiful room overlooking VR's golf course. We played tennis, bocce, shuffleboard, participated in "turtle races", saw two great shows, watched a movie, had a wonderful time. Our week was also superquiet because all the kids were back in school. Am recommending to all my friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the golfcourse and facing away from the parking lots.

We appreciate you sharing such your awesome vacation experience with us!

Villa Roma loves having exchange guests coming to our resort, especially the ones who never had been here before. We pride ourselves in having a ton of activities, a relaxing atmosphere, and having the advantage of being surrounded by the beautiful Catskill Mountains, especially this time of year!

We are happy to see that our staff accommodated your rooming needs. There are still some rooms that need to be redone; however, they are all clean and ready to go upon check in. We also ensure that all appliances are up to date and all the furnishings are in great shape!

Turtle races are a new activity brought on by our Social Director, Doc Holiday. Doc started working at Villa Roma as of April of last year, and he has not only expanded our social recreation department, but also incorporated some unique activities such as Turtle Racing. This one activity in particular is only rivaled by BINGO!

We sincerely appreciate your recommendations to your friends and family and really look forward to your return visit. We hope to see you again soon!

Love it!! Love it!! Love it!! This was a very relaxing stay - no pressure - well only when it came time to eat :-). We purchased the package with meals during Italian Week! Next time, we'll just book the Resort so we can eat whenever we choose to! Overall the food was good - only one surprisingly questionable meal - lunch on the first day, twice baked potatoes - yuck! The banquet was exquisite and we walked, talked, honeymooned, and rested. There are definitely plenty of activities for the child at heart - we played tennis, basketball, horseback riding, skeet ball, watched the live comedian, live musicians and singers, etc., etc., etc. A week filled with fun, laughter and enjoyment. I recommend this as a relaxing time for couples and then have an entirely different experience with the entire family! The souvenir shop is filled with lots of trinkets that are a great reminder of the wonderful time enjoyed, Every time I look at my Villa Roma magnet on my refrigerator, I smile and remember the nice people and the relaxing time. Oh, and I gave the room and excellent because the renovated bathroom with the jet bathtub made it all worth it when returning to the room soar from exercising while playing tennis :-). The bed was comfortable and I did not wake up during the night! Only thing, the room could use a new paint coat to brighten it up a bit!

Room Tip: Stay on the higher floor to see the great view of the resort!

I traded into week 35 and it was a very pleasant stay. the kids enjoyed the pool on the days it was warm enough. they do have an indoor pool but since we were in a TS unit and not main building wasn't convenient due to cool weather. Our house keeper Rose was a doll and having stayed in other resorts I was surprised they made up the rooms daily.

just a couple of suggestions...I noticed there is a Shortlines bus that goes to resort but I was advised it only goes in the summer...extending to winter would be great for those who want to take advantage of skiing and winter at resort; after all not everyone drives and this would be convenient.
My only other issue is the fees for all the activities and the free activities did not always go on at time on list. when you have 3 kids it can add up....$39.00 for bowling for 2 sets is a little expensive and can add up quickly...it tough to keep saying no; otherwise the resort is beautiful and lots of wildlife can be seen right from window. next time may go with adults only and take advantage of the dining, and entertainment...btw Damian the Magician was great but theat was only kid friendly show.

Enjoyed a long weekend conference. Rooms were clean and attractive, however, you could have a long walk from main lobby or dining room to room even though there are no steps. Food was very good first night, but less so the following days. Lots of activities to choose from. Staff excellent. Only problem I had was with pass key cards that didn't work all the time. Did not use spa, but was told it is not accessible and even if one could navigate the steps to get there, the benefits of the massage were dissapated once you climbed back down the steps.

Room Tip: Rooms are all about equal. If you have difficulties walking, ask for room near entrance to room cor...

Nice resort. We had a group of 13 total. We had a 2 bedroom unit; living room area had a comfy couch, TV and small fridge. Bathroom was HUGE with plenty of towels and toiletries. 1 family in our group did not like their room (in Lodge) thought it was damp and musty so they complained and got switched to an empty Timeshare unit!

Costumer service was excellent. We had a problem with the iron in our room. Some one came within minutes of calling the front desk.

Dining room service was also excellent. Kudos to Jose & Gogo. They remembered our preferred drinks. Food was very good. Usual breakfast choices . A good variety of dinner choices. Only one bad entree the whole week (Cod with clam Sauce) very "fishy".

It rained one day while we were there but there is enough to keep the kids busy between the game room, arcade, bouncers camp and indoor pool. None of our kids went to the camp program so I cannot comment about that.

I would definitely consider going back.

Villa Roma is a very beautiful resort. It is tucked away in the beautiful Catskill Mountains. This was our first visit to the resort and we were very impressed. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff is at your beck and call. Anything you want they will do their best to accommodate you.

Everything you need is at the resort, restaurants, spa, movies, golf, sport activities and our favorite, the entertainment. The pools are beautiful and they have rubber duck races which were a lot of fun. Doc Holiday really has his activity scheduled jam packed with fun things to do. Live Turtle Races, Super Jack Pot Bingo," Villa Roma's Got Talent Show", "Sliced" cooking competition, and all kinds of tournaments. We saw Comedy Stars Maureen Langan and Mike Marino in their night club . There is late night dance parties every night. Our favorite show was "Carmine and Carmella's Wedding" a comedy dinner theater show. It was so much fun to interact with the characters. Doc has something for every age, young and old.

The food was very good. There are several places to eat at the resort, you don't have to worry about finding a place to eat, from breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. They have " Canoli Day" and they were delicious, not too sweet, perfect!

On our way home we stopped at the Wood Stock museum which is not far from the resort. We had a excellent vacation.
