This resort is FIVE STAR in my opinion, but I am rating based on availability of amenities, itinerary, staff in the restaurant, and the overall experience my family and friends always have here. Its not the Sheraton on the beach, but its a family resort that provides opportunities for old fashioned fun like Bingo, boccee, bowling, swimming, walks, movies, shuffleboard, etc. Sure there could be updates, like I too would love to see the Forum lose the red carpeted walls; have the indoor pool freshened and have a spa area upstairs that truly could look more like a spa (like maybe install a dressing table with mirror and blow dryer to freshen up after massage or swimming) or even have the game room freshly painted and basically have this back area of resort brought forward into 2012 like the front of the hotel. Marty's Lounge is beautiful and thinking that the Forum or Tivoli could be like that is chilling... But I digress...I think a review should not just rate based on the inside of 4 walls of a hotel room. Unless that family typically spend their vacations in the room watching tv, and ordering room service. If that's the case, this isn't the resort for them.
I come to Villa 4 seasons because I am fortunate enough to own a condo on premise. I recommend each season for different reasons. During the winter, despite no snow, Villa fulfilled my dream of teaching my 2 young sons how to ski. Yes, it's only 2 trails and 1 lift, but that's all u need! Beyond words with respect to staff. This past Easter weekend we hosted friends and were extremely impressed with the dynamic duo of Erin and Eric in the dining room. Each night they remembered the littlest things for each of our guests and we each experienced the personal, professional and excellent service. From remembering little things like my friend liked her salad without dressing, to the fact that they knew the menu so closely and offered awesome suggestions, it was a great experience. Highly recommend Erin and Eric!
The indoor fun park was free for Easter Spring break! Free unlimited rock climbing; bounce house and spider climb. What a relief for parents in this harder economic time. It was very appreciated by so many guests, so thank you Villa!!! When you see April, the kids counselor in the halls, game room or camp, she is guaranteed to know your child if she has met them once. Always super friendly. Kids love her.
Summer is a nut house of course and i wish more families could be a little "kinder" and more in the spirit of everyone, ibstead of just themselves (forget getting a chair by the pool!) but despite that, Villa always tries their best to "keep order". Fall is absolutely beautiful. Outdoor pool and jacuzzi open til end of September! Hayrides, bonfires, Thanksgiving festivities and of course Xmas and New Years awesome!
Villa just welcomed Doc Holiday this week and what a breath of fresh air Doc and his wife have brought to Villa as the new entertainment directors. There are now LIVE TURTLE races, Bingo at 8pm; etc and basically the daily schedule is completely changed around and I've heard so many guests say how much they love him already! We are very excited to see the old traditions and how the new ideas blend to bring the best of the best.
Matt at the Golf Shop is always friendly , hospitable and accommodating. Spring weather has been working with us, so in our few days up there we got to golf twice. Rates were incredible. $22 with cart for 9 holes (front or bak) on a beautiful course. How do u beat that? Bravo Villa for offering such reasonable spring golf rates!
Give Roma a shot if u have never been. So many special theme weekends despite ( or in addition to) going for a whole week. Families have gone here since they were kids and now they are bringing their kids or grand kids! As Mikey says, try it, you will like it. Pick your season, and pick your reason.
