“Ok trip to city island”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Crowded but service is quick. friendly staff. lobster tails were good, even the fried chicken wings! & sweetcorn. wish it was whole-belly clams instead of strips which didn't taste much. could use some fan or a/c inside dining area when it's a hot summer day.

“Where else but the Bronx”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is not your 4 or 5 star City Island restaurant. But, then again, who wants it to be. Cafeteria style with self-serve station for condiments. Had the raw cherrystone clams. They were fresh, clean, and tasted good. Cocktail sauce could use some heat but solved the problem with the addition of hot sauce from condiment station. Corn was sweet and buttery just as anyone would want it. Friends had steamers. Large portion for the price. Had some soft shell crabs. Came with 6 crabs and fries. Crabs were good. Fries were not crispy. Smelts were fried just right. All came with those soggy fries and cole slaw hidden under the fries. They also have steamed dishes. Ambiance, whats that? lol Here its outdoor dining with the masses on the Long Island sound with boats, and birds going by. Watch out for those seagulls. The wires they have above dining area seem to do a good job of keeping the birds away. The outdoor dining experience is the fun of this place. It got crowded as time went by. People smoking can be an annoyance. As the parade cars come in and pass by it seems there is a contest who can play their music louder. The place would have gotten 4 stars but the bathroom was a pig sty. People learn to clean up after yourself in the stalls. Will go back soon for some more soft shell crabs. Best price in town for those.

“We stopped by the entrance”

This was not for us at all, the place was a total mess and felt like a school lunch place with only fried food

“Fast & fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

My friend and I "discovered" this mainstay of City Island, the Bronx today and loved it! Go on a pleasant day, sit outdoors with a very cold beer and maybe the fried shrimp basket and enjoy! You'll sit right next to the water and find it hard to believe you're in the Bronx. Prices are cheap, service is very efficient, food is OK (the fries are too soggy to bother eating!) but the overall experience is wonderful!

“Fast food, by the water”

This is more of a fast-food style restaurant but the Seafood for the price and Speed of service make a great weekend meal and right along the Water
