Staff was friendly. Quick and friendly check in.
Hotel is VERY nicely done.
My room was spacious (huge), spotless and lovely. This is the only time that I remember a hotel room being larger than that pictured.
Linens were nice. Towels and carpet were plush. The 5 subway station is a brief walk. It's close. I was wearing heels, carrying a laptop, and pulling a rollaboard, and I'm still staying it's close. It's quite near the 3rd Avenue - 149th Street stop (not the 149th Grand Concourse stop).
It took me a very reasonable 25 minutes to get from the hotel to my office in midtown, 34th Street and Park Avenue (Murray Hill/Empire State Building area for those of you not familiar with the city). The surrounding area is the Bronx, not Park Avenue - it was fine for the Bronx.
I travel to NYC once a month. I will be back.
Next time I will read all of the playbills and history that is placed throughout.
I have earned a few free nights from hotels.com, and have never written a review before, but I wanted to let others know that this is a solid place to stay. When staying here, I'll still be on business and spend most of my time in Manhattan, working, but this is a really nice hotel.
(PS-Mexicocina is right next door - 2 carnitas tacos and a sangria - filling and delicious for $12 before tip. They do deliver, but I prefer to eat there.)
