We used to come several times each summer for snow crabs baked with lots of garlic and butter and we sure missed them! The new place is brighter and more modern. It lacks ambience (and that's not to say it was all that charming before....) but it's much cleaner.
Happy to report the raw oysters and clams are just as fresh as ever, and the snow crab was as good as ever. Two nice full leg clusters cooked perfectly and plenty of garlic bits and butter to dip it in. Accompanied by a nice stack of "steak" fries, a small salad and a tiny serving of pretty good cole slaw.
They serve a lot of fried food and we seldom eat fried stuff, but the portions looked generous and nicely golden brown.
Take note - it's cash only and it can get crowded when the weather is nice.
City Island has a ton of good seafood spots, but on a nice warm sunny day, we drive by them all to sit on the deck and crack crab at Tony's!
