“Fresh and delicious Italian Food in The Bronx”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

I have been going to Tino's for many years and the food, cheeses and cold cuts are fresher and fresher. Quality is the key to everything that they do. Be a hot plate of chicken marsala or a deli sandwich, you can feel the quality of all the foods that they make. A must place to visit if you are visiting Fordham University or the Little Italy of the Bronx. Good prices are also plus. Visit this place, you will not be sorry.

“Good, Simple Italian Deli near Fordham University”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Its difficult to judge a place after only one visit but today we eat simply at this well established Italian deli on Arthur Avenue in the heart of Little Italy in the Bronx. Its close to Fordham University and popular with faculty, staff and students. There's a good range of sandwiches, ciabattas, cold meats and salads as well as pastas and assorted hot main dishes. Nothing really fancy but wholesome food at good prices. Coffee is $1.50 a cup!! The cafe also does simple cheap breakfasts. You can by deli food to go and there are some tables at the side of the display cases where you can eat your food if you want to loiter for a while. I don't think one can go wrong here.

“Best Gelato on Arthur Ave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

When I think of italian gelato, I think of this place. Their gelato is perfectly creamy and smooth and very yummy. They have outdoor and indoor seating and this place is very casual. You order at a counter before sitting down and they also sell a small selection of prepackaged snacks and goodies. They have a great selection of fresh food and deli meats though! It is the perfect little clean Italian place and great for a day out that isn't too fancy. It isn't 'fresh' in the traditional sense. For example, I always order lasagna and they just have it made from earlier in the day, take a cut out of it, and then heat it up. It is very delicious though and very fast this way. The service is incredibly friendly. I feel like they close on the earlier side though.

“Wonderful Italian Deli near the Bronx Zoo, Gardens, Fordham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2011

First, my review reflects what one would expect of a well-established Italian delicatessen. This is a deli with side tables so that you can sit down with the sandwich or hot plate that your purchased at the counter. This is not white-table-cloth dining.

Tino's has a wide array of fine quality cold cuts, cheeses, salads, soup, and hot items that could be heated, such as lasagne (veg and meat varieties,) manicotti, chicken marsala, meatballs and pasta, etc. You place your order; then go to the register to pay, then take out or have a seat at the tables. There are basic sandwiches, and sandwich specials with combinations they make in heaven.

They are very willing to please. The guys at the counter are very helpful. My sister wanted some of the manchego cheese, purchased crackers from the grocery section, and asked about the grapes in the case. The grapes were the owner's snack. My sister offered to pay for them. After some thought, they just gave some to her.

The store also stocks a variety of packaged items from Italy, e.g. pastas, candies and biscotti, olive oils, condiments, etc. But this is one beautiful deli with meats, cheeses, dinners, desserts, homemade sauces, etc. to take home.

Tino's is right on Arthur Avenue, a longtime Italian section that includes everything from Italian delis to finer restaurants to pastry shops and cafes. It is a short distance from Fordham University, the Botanical Gardens, and the Bronx Zoo, if you are touring the area. Ask anyone to point you in the right direction.
