“Food and Service are Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We've gone to the Algonquin several times over the years. The food is adequate, the service is fine. Its a little $$ for the type of food, but the location right on the lake and boat dock parking make it ideal for a mid-day snack, lunch, etc. We'd return.

“Food and view are both fine here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

For a casual place, this restaurant offers a nice beer and wine list, and really good food. It is often busy, especially in the high season, but service is prompt and attentive. Drinks are well prepared and timed correctly with the meal service. The Algonquin is located on a fairly busy marina, with boat and wave runner rentals, which is fine for people watching. It is also one of the few places on the lake where you can dock and walk up to the restaurant. I have been here many times over the years and can say that I have never been disappointed with the food, atmosphere, or service. It can be easy to miss from the road as it is set closer to the water so keep an eye out if approaching by the roadway.

“Wish they had half stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Algonquin has been around for years. The food is OK but the setting is the big sell. Dockside at Lake George. Its fun to watch the boats come and go and there is live music many nights (think cheesy Jimmy Buffett covers). The food is better than average, but the service can be slow. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars (if that was an option) because they don't rise to the 4 star level.

“Great view, very good food in Bolton Landing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This was the second time that we ate at The Algonquin and both times we found the food to be very good and the atmosphere excellent as it's located on a dock overlooking Lake George at Bolton Landing, NY. My wife and I both had the Sole Amondine which was prepared perfectly and was a good side portion. It came with a large salad, fresh vegtable saute and rice. The restaurant closes at the end of October until the Spring but if you are in the area during the non winter months this is a good place to go for dinner.
