“Amazing Bed & Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

My husband and I stayed June 28th - July 2nd. We had a wonderful time! The Boathouse is absolutely breathtaking. The grounds are beautiful and it's a perfect location. It's a short walk into town and 5 minute walk to the Sagamore Resort, where you could use their fitness center. We stayed in Isabella's Sweet and loved it. It was quiet, cozy, and well-decorated. Patti and Joe, the owners think of everything. We enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them. They made us feel so at home. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and the history of Lake George. I can't wait to go back next year. Word to the wise....book early!

Room Tip: Choose Isabella's Sweet. Quiet and well-decorated.

We stayed at the Boathouse June 18-20 and had a wonderful stay.

First I think it is helpful to know who is writing any review. My husband and I are 32 and have two small children. We seldom get away together, but when we do we like to go somewhere nice and worth our money. Lake George is a favorite location of ours. Usually we camp on the islands, but this June we wanted to do something special, so we decided on The Boathouse. We found Joe and Patti to be very friendly and feel lucky to have enjoyed this fabulous lake front property; there truly is not a place with better ambiance on the lake.

The b+b has a beautiful southerly view of the lake. Sitting on the deck or anywhere on the grounds is fabulous and relaxing. We stayed in theTanner room, which was quite nice. It does have its own small porch that it shares with the adjacent room. The view is quite nice from this porch too. My husband and I appreciated the small porch, but we enjoyed the main deck even more. When we return, we will probably stay in one of the Allaya or Ciara room to save a little money since we loved the main deck so much and really loved sitting by the water. I did peek in both of these rooms. Though smaller than the Tanner room, they are very nice. I will tell you that the bathroom for the one is not in the room, but across the hall from it (this is literally 2 steps away). If you need the bathroom in your room, just call to ask which one you should book so you can have this amenity.

The Boathouse has a perfect location. It is walking distance to everything in the town of Bolton, including the Sagamore. I do recommend going to the Sagamore for at least a drink. There are also plenty of outdoor activites in the area, including great short and long hiking trails, a drive up Prospect mountain, boating access points, beaches, etc.

Joe also has a Hacker Craft. My husband and I have always watched these beautiful boats from afar and wanted to ride in one. We did on our trip. We spoke to another couple at the b+b and they too were interested in a ride. If you like boating and want a thrill, go out on the boat. It is well worth the experience. Joe also takes you to all of the popular sites in the Narrows (a part of the lake).

Enjoy your stay with Patti and Joe...but most importantly be sure to enjoy the majestic beauty of Lake George.

If you are looking for a getaway, I highly recommend this place.

I can only reiterate what others are saying. Amazing location, awesome room (Reis suite), comfortable bed and comfortable atmosphere. Joe and patti and their staff were great hosts, very easy to talk with, and very attentive to your needs and questions. The breakfasts were beyond words. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this b&b!!

We just stayed at the Boarthouse B&B at Boltons Landing, NY this past weekend (May 5, 2012). We have stayed at many B&B's up and down the east coast but this one tops them all. The main house is on the water. Patti & Joe are the best. They have seen to every detail. We stayed in one of the carriage house suites (Isabella's) and the room was very clean with all the amenities. You eat a full breakfast in the main house over looking the lake with the boathouse below. If you sign up Joe will take you for a ride around the lake in his custom wooden lake touring boat. We traveled up from the Princeton, NJ area and it was well worth the trip. We will return again and again. The Sagamore is just a short walk away for dinner with more great views. This B&B has a great location with on site parking and a private swim area. What a great place!!!!!!

Room Tip: Suites are very nice.

Despite the lack of sun this was a most beatiful place to stay. The great room is a great place to curl up on the couch, in front of the fireplace, with a good book and relax. Everything is spotlless and makes you feel at home. Joe and Patti know how to run a four star B & B. Make sure you take Joe up on his skill as a tour boat operator. The tour was great even on a overcast chilly day. We stayed in the Tanner Room that was bright, cheerful with great views and a porch. My husband and I will certainly be back to enjoy this paradise, the great food and host

My wife surprised me for my bday and planned a trip for us and our 2 friends to stay here this past weekend. What a great experience, from the rooms, the view, to the service and the owners, just a lovely place! We were greeted as we got out of our vehicle right away by Joe in the driveway, what a nice guy! This place has a great history behind it as well, and Joe can tell you all of it! The view was gorgeous, the Reis Suite we stayed in the main house was awesome, and this place was so clean and the decor was pristine. Patty and her staff cook a different gourmet breakfast every morning that was always delicious! Our room was always perfect every day after Renae and the other girl were finished cleaning. There is a beautiful porch off the Great Room that was so nice, comfy chairs, beautiful almond colored wood floors. We hung out there late at night drinking wine on the porch and the lake was so quiet, such a peaceful place! Joe and Patty were always around to help you in any way and knew the town very well to point you to the right places to eat and hang out. We didn't get to take advantage of Joes boat tour because of time constraints and cold weather, but wish we could have it looked like fun! So much more to say about this place but you need to experience it for yourself. We will definitely revisit this place in the future and would recommend it to anyone going up that way. Just a wonderful experience all around, thank you Joe and Patty for a great weekend!

Room Tip: The Reis Suite was the best!

My fiancé and I are planning a wedding in Lake George and we spent a beautiful 2 nights and Joe and Patti's Boathouse bed and breakfast...not only was their bed and breakfast gorgeous on so many levels...from the inside decor...the gorgeous views of the lake...the delicious morning breakfasts...and their unbelievable hospitality and kind personalities...at the end of our trip I felt as though we made two new friends! I would highly recommend the boathouse to anyone who is looking for a very special and relaxing getaway...you will love every second of your time there!
