Where to start...Hotel could have been a decent value but walls were paper thin. If you are going to get a good nights sleep forget it. Hotel was not full but we had couples on both sides of us who were using the hotel for something other than sleep. I tried to call downstairs to the front desk clerk but he was unavailable due to the earphones (ipod) and being on the computer.

Hotel was old but decent and could use renovations. I suggested to the clerk on the way out that they put people in every other room when the hotel is not full. The neighborhood wasn't the best. Would I stay again? Forget it!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night while we were in town to see a show at the Arena. Stayed here b/c it was $55 a room and close to the Arena. I was expecting a very bad hotel based on other reviews, but it honestly was not horrible. The girl at the front desk was not rude but she was not overly pleasant. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but there was a strong smoke odor in our room and in the hallway. The room cleanliness and appearance was alright.... there were some weird stains on the wall though. ( I bought clorox wipes and febreze just in case) The shower was nice except that the shower head sprayed water everywhere... over the shower curtain and onto the wall!! But my boyfriend was promptly able to fix that... don't know why the hotel hadn't fixed it before. The continental breakfast was very nice... cereal, bagels, croissants, oatmeal, make your own waffles, fruit, tea and coffee. The woman working in there was very nice and worked hard to keep everything stocked. The other guests seemed nice enough...and the noise level was fine. The woman who checked us out was very nice. Plenty of parking and the neighborhood seemed alright. I guessed I got what I paid for... can't expect too much for $55 for two people. I would definitely try another hotel first though if I was ever in town again.

This hotel has NO pool as advertised...in a bad location...the back gates to the parking are chained/locked is proof in itself to question if it is safe!?

Front Desk is a social gathering for employees...where in any other hotel do you see laundry personnel hanging out?

Very unprofessional front desk manager who uses the "F" word quite frequently. How she got the position is unbelievable...not a Days Inn run place. Couldn't believe the mouth on her when qguests are in breakfast room.

COLD in hallways...as if you are outside! Some fire alarms not working in halways when they went off during stay? Question if code is enforced for safety of guests.

Maintenance/houseman people were most helpful, polite.

There are plenty of other hotels in the downtown area across the river in safer locations. Whay take the chance?

Bad odor. Bad odor. The room next door was being torn up like a crime had been committed there. Was charged $110.00 for a chair we didn't even use. Don't stay in this hotel!

“A Decent Stay”

Days Inn Binghamton

Stayed here while in town for a memorial service, and combination flight with hotel for 3 nights on Travelocity saved us nearly $600 vs. airfare alone, so including the hotel was a no-brainer. We figured if it was terrible, we would just stay with our family in the area.

We arrived very late (1am-ish) and desk help was polite and helpful. Check in took about 90 seconds and we were off to our room. Elevator did make some funny noises, but it ultimately did its job. Room was clean, but a bit run down. It was about 14 degrees outside, and at first the room was very cold and the heater blew cold air, but as we were getting ready to call and ask for a different room, the desk clerk called us to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. When we told of the cold air, he told us it takes about 10 minutes, and if after that it still didn't work, he'd put us in another room. Sure enough, after 10 minutes, we had hot hot heat!

Beds were VERY comfortable. When our family offered to let us stay on their sofa beds instead of downtown, we politely declined due to the high comfort level in the queen size beds.

Our room had a nice view of the river, and while it was noisy at times due to nearby doors slamming, party in adjacent room and its location right next to the elevator, it was a decent room. The heater was on full blast during the night, so it drowned out most of the noise. If we hadn't had the heater on full blast all night long, the noise from other guests would probably have been a problem. The two sinks are a plus.

There is a breakfast available each morning from 6-10, but it was very basic fare...OJ, coffee, cereal and fruit. Better than nothing, but nothing special.

I am used to staying in full service hotels, and a bit spoiled in that way, so I was concerned that I'd be unhappy, but I was pleasantly surprised. Really we just needed a comfortable place to crash, and it fit the bill perfectly. Even on the days when we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, we'd come back at the end of the evening and find a bag hanging on the outside of the door, full of fresh towels. I thought that was especially nice, and made a hotel with few amenities very pleasant.
