“Your basic Greek Diner with good food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

This is a downtown Binghamton institution that is known for good food, low prices and consistency. Not fine dinning, but always clean, friendly staff and a good place to go for breakfast.

“Great for breakfast on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011 via mobile

I go to Rolando's a few times a month, but I've never had anything other than breakfast. The special (2 eggs, homefries and toast) is a great deal, especially after a night out. The crowd is usually a mix of elderly locals during the week and hung over college students on the weekends. If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't it. The service is good and the food is great, definitely recommend it.

“Rolando's is Decent. That's all I can say.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2010

I love little diners. Vestal's Skylard is my favorite place to eat, and I used to travel around every week with my parents, sampling different area diners.

Recently, I moved to Binghamton, and my roommate took me to Rolando's. It was decent, but I can't say much more.

The food was allright. I've mainly gotten simple burgers and sandwiches. Although once I did spring for the Liver with Onions, and it was pretty heinously greasy. But it was deffinitly still passable.

The atmosphere is simple, which I thought was ok, but it was too crowded for such a small place. (It's not very large.)

Service was ok, but considering it's location, the sheer number of people in during mealtimes robs you of any real interaction with the servers, which for me is a great appeal with diners- the people. So I missed that.

Prices were good, but like I said, the food wasn't great, so the value was mixed.

Overall, it's a good place for a quick bite, but that's all I can say.

“High quality, great service, low price makes Rolando's worth visiting any time you're downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

Equidistant to Binghamton Public Library and Security Mutual corporate headquarters
is a real gem. While quality main courses are fine, the quantity and quality of sides eat like a main course. Nothing tastes ersatz b/c it is not-prefab. Examples - The mashed potatoes are freshmade, the gravy dousing fully complements it. The coleslaw is so finely ground and creamy, people without teeth would even enjoy it ! Seriously, Shelly, my server is warm and her timing for the milkshake - which was luscious - with the meal, etc., was excellent. Henry, the head chef, really knows his onions about preparation and presentation. The 80's music on Q-107 plays in the background. Prices on daily specials, make Rolando's real affordable for many to most. Lawrence Weinzimer

“great for breakfast and lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2010

Rolando's is a great local's place for breakfast and lunch. Never had a supper there ,but I'm sure it'll suffice. It's strickly for what you want to do, eat and get on with what you need to do. It's also very safe because 20% of their breakfast crowd are uniformed or plainclothes police. They always have several local news papers or hand and the waitresses are excellent. Go there more than twice, and they'll know your preferences.
