“Tired older hotel, some renovated rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2009

If you stay here, ask for a newly renovated room. The room we had was not very good. The shower knob fell off the handle. We had to shower in another room.!

As most reviewers have mentioned this hotel has been through a recent renovation. The newer areas are nice enough but the rest of the hotel seems overlooked. The most important thing was the room which was very clean and well maintained. The hallway on the other hand was littered with room service trays from the previous day. The one thing that seemed puzzling was the dirt on all the outside windows. The appearance of this hotel would be dramatically improved if they had all exterior windows professionally cleaned. The weekend of our stay a wedding was booked and there was a non stop trail of drunken revelers till at least 5:00 AM. A blast from security helped for about an hour or so.

The hotel went thru a remodel and it seemed like they skimped on the expense. Also, I am used to some amount of sounds in the hotel thru the night but I was woken 3 of the 4 nights by parties either in the parking lot or in the hallways.

Stay at the Hampton.

Everyone and everything was wonderful from the cleanliness of the hotel to the great food and service . We noticed improvments that had been made too, up to and including the microwaves and refridgerators to the mattress. The shower was great too

This hotel used to be a regular stop for me but my business had taken me elsewhere for a little while. What they have done here in the last 4 months is AMAZING! Last weekend I stayed there and they have ALL new mattresses. The best kind with the pillowtop, feels like sleeping on a cloud. They also put Microwaves and Fridges in all the rooms, even the standard I stayed in. Our rooms also had new heating/ac unit that was digital, that was huge because in the past its been hard to control the temperature. They were just finishing remodeling the bathrooms with new tile and tubs when I was there and the front desk clerk was telling me that they are getting new stucco on the building next month. When that happens, this place will once again be the great beauty that it used to be. I cant wait to go back. Oh, and the pool- totally awesome- they refinished the floor and painted the walls, its like being in an indoor water park.

I spent a Saturday night here in order to visit the Genesee Country Village. I had no complaints. We stayed in a suite facing the pool (too much room for the two of us - sister and myself). It did remain rather noisy till pool closed. I found the room to be clean. Same with the bathroom. Beds were comfortable. The room, however, was hot even though it was a cold evening. We ended up turning on the AC. Our room rate included breakfast and we ordered off their breakfast menu. Very good breakfast.

  • Liked — Suite was nice. Included small frigerator, microwave, coffee maker.
  • Disliked — Rather noisy next to pool.

This was the worst hotel we have ever encountered. We were staying there for a wedding so we checked in an then promptly left to get to the wedding, never thinking to check out our room first. Upon returning to our room at midnight, the toilet was clogged and filthy. Also, the only lights were two on the nightstand, however, they were plugged in directly behind the bed and arcing badly. When we tried to contact the front desk they didn't care and told us to take it up with a manager. The front desk was extremely rude and very hostile. Do not stay at this hotel, they are not only pricer than other nearby hotels you will not enjoy your stay.

  • Liked — nothing
