We were in the Linyati area about 10 years ago at another camp. The resurrection of the spillway about 5 years ago ( due to heavy rains in Angola and some subterrainian seismic activity) has dramatically changed the appeal of the area both for the wildlife and visitors. The herds of elephants and the remarkably territorial and aggressive hippos who inhabit the spillways banks adds to the attractiveness of this camp. Sighting of leopard and lions were exquisite and a afternoon on the spillway on the boat is a must. The camp managers- a dutch couple- Wilhelm & Ninka were just superb in their warmth and attention to detail and the executive chef of the camp made sure every meal- from breakfast to afternoon tea was an excuse for gross indulgence!
