Hamish & Millie were the perfect hosts, complemented by a fantastic team.
We were guided by Rain who demonstrated fantastic tracking skills to find us a leopard on the final drive of our safari. When Rain found the leopard within a minute of seeing the tracks, Rain was pumped and it was great to see a professional taking pride in & enjoying his work.
The game in this concession was good with a couple of lion prides, leopard, good herds of elephant, sable and good general plains game. The driving range however seemed a little confined, not venturing too far west of the airstrip and never venturing East towards or beyond Vumbura Plains. The landscape was stunning, in parts resembling a manicured garden.
One consideration for Little Vumbura was that the camp started morning activities half an hour later than other camps, plus then you had to boat to the vehicle. This meant that the amount of good photographic light in the morning was reduced. Something to consider if you are into photography.
The afternoon boat trip into the delta here was fantastic - the camp is located fairly close to one of the main channels, so there is likely good water for boating at any time of the year. We were guided on this trip by Sam and it was a pleasure to spend time in his company.
LV is a beautiful camp with a great management team who helped ensure we had a fantastic stay.
