“Brilliant Room and Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

we had stayed in a fairly bland guest house in Cape town so this was our first experience of excellent South African (sorry Lainy) even Namibian hospitality. We arrived fairly early to drop our bags but were welcomed by a shout from the balcony and promptly offered a glass of wine which set the scene for a splendid couple of nights. Breakfast is served around a communal table which makes conversation interesting - the omellettes were great. Stanley was very helpful in providing local information and our one true adventure in ZA.. Really nice couple and amazing location.

Room Tip: We had a fantastic room (1?) along the whole frontage. Fantastic sea views

Great experience. Lainy and Stanley really do a wonderful job. We spent some days here to finish our first trip to SA. Everything was fine for us. The suite with the promised view to the whalebay was more than we expected to have. We especially enjoyed the breakfast together with the other nice guests and you. Everything was prepared with love and great ideas.

...is how I would describe this boutique lodge situated a stones throw from the ocean. Lainy and Stanley are great hosts, and after the first evening we felt like we were staying with friends, rather than being in a guest house. The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern and the whole feel of the lodge is one of home from home. The view over the bay is beautiful and delivers some of the best sunsets along this coastal region. If you plan to head to this area for Whale watching, you must stay here, you will not need to leave the comfort of the house to enjoy the display in the bay, and if you book the suite room, you won't need to leave your bed! The communal breakfast is a great way to meet all your fellow travellors and compare your route along the South African coast. Great lodge, great staff, amazing hosts....we will be back!
(PS- the bathroom and bedroom are open plan, with just a small wall seperating them, so if your a little prudish, this is not the place for you!)

If you want something unique, this is the place. The personal touch on design, food and atmosphere is unique. The view is gorgeous and brings peace to the mind. We very much enjoyed the common meals. Breakfast was among our "best ever" and to have the opportunity to share a meal with fellow travelers is a treasure. We enjoyed every minute and hope to be back soon!
