“OMG....Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2011

White Shark Projects is the company you want to hire to go shark diving! It was awesome!
I was confused with which company to go with and was concerned with the 2 hour drive (they drive you), but it was well worth it.
It was in Kleinbaai next to Gansbaai. You take the boat to "Shark Alley" and go in the cage. It was very professional and I felt very safe. We saw 11 different Great Whites and they kept swimming around by the boat...there was a shark within site at all times.
When it is over, before they drive you back, they serve you hot soup, which you really need. It was cold out on the boat.
This is a must do in South Africa!

“More concerned about making money than providing the service.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2010

The company's website advertised seeing white sharks from a cage with a maximum of 18 passengers on board. The crew lowered the cage only for about 10 minutes and did not wait enough time for the sharks to appear. As a result we did not see a shark from the cage which was the main point of their service. There were also more than 18 passengers on board, which was the maximum number stated on the company's website.

The cage dives consited of three groups and the crew promised each would get equal time with the sharks. As it turned out the first group waited more than an hour until the shark appeared. The second group waited about thirty minutes. By the time our turn came, the crew was already prepared to depart and lowered our cage only for about 10 minutes and were more concerned about getting back to pick up the next group of people than making sure that we get to experience what we paid a large amount of money to experience.
It was clear that this was just a formality to be able to claim that everybody was in the cage. As a result the time was not enough for the sharks to approach the boat and as opposed to the first two groups we did not see the sharks from the cage. This was the main point of the service for which we signed up and the company did not deliver on it, not due to the lack of sharks in the vicinity, but due to a rush to get back to make money from the next group of clients.

This was during the world cup and it looked like they were running three tours a day, so it is understandable that they were in a rush, but this does not excuse sacrificing on the quality of the service they provide.

“Great Day Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2010

An excellent day out from Cape Town. Picked up at the Guest House and taken to Gansbaai for the day.

We saw 4 sharks and got some great pictures.

A well run tour by a knowledgable team.

“Great Shark Diving Company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2010

These guys did a great job of taking us out and showing us the beauty of the Great White Shark. They were very clear on the safety procedures and on what we needed to stay safe and have a great time with the sharks. We saw 9 sharks out of season which was excellent and got some real close ups while in the cage. It was an excellent day and these guys made it a safe, pleasurable and altogether great experience. I would definitely recommend White Shark Projects to others who wanted to see these cool animals at close quarters.

“Great people who are passionate about shark conservation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2009

I managed two outings with this company. Included in the price was breakfast, towels, drinks and food on the boat and then lunch on our return.

They are located in Kliensbaai Harbour with a 60 second walk to the boat. A full saftey briefing took place in the shop on the 1st day and onboard due to tides on the 2nd day. There was only 12 people on the boat which is made for 30 so it was nice and spacious.

They run a volunteer program so there were plaenty of crew to help get kitted up in the 7mm wetsuits which were dry. They have enough to provide two sets, one for the morning outing and one for the afternoon.

There was a lot of information about the sharks and their behaviour which was very interesting. The trip was filmed by Julia and offered for sale at the end of the trip R350 and was available to buy 10mins after we had watched it in the shop. No 2 weeks wait for postage here - well done WSP.

Breakfast was toast, ham, eggs, cereals etc and on the baot there were crisps, sandwiches and cold drinks with lunch on our return. Soup, cakes and even home made scones with jam and cream.

At the end of the days with WSP we came away wanting more having really enjoyed our time with the team and the of course the sharks.

We got a certificate to prove that we had completed the dive. I say dive as that is what the providers call it but it's really breath holding in a cage surrounded by beautiful creatures.

WSP provides a caring and great value for money service and would definately use them again.
