“Unforgettable experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We spent three nights at Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. From the time we arrived, till the time we drove out of the parking area, we were treated like the most important visitors. Everyone from the welcoming party to the managers to all the other staff serving at breakfast, lunch, high tea, supper and the cleaning staff were all very friendly and greeted you with big smiles. They all went to so much trouble to make my son's birthday a very special birthday to remember. Even when I mentioned that I was wheat intolerant, I was given a special platter at high tea and special wheat free bread was made for me. Going out on game drives and rock art excursions we very interesting and the guide was so knowledgeable. It was the most amazing time we spent as a family. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always someone to make you feel comfortable. We all went for a spa treatment and felt so pampered by all the therapists and left feeling relaxed and revitalized when we left. We spent time relaxing at the beautiful infinity pool which looked onto the landscape around us, it was breath taking. These few days were the most unforgettable experience we have had for a very long time. It will be a place we will definitely return too.

Room Tip: We had two rooms and they were both excellent.

Koro lodge is a couple of KMs from the main lodge and offers a real sense of home in a remote part of the reserve with views over rocky terrain. The house feels like a farm house - but with all the luxuries of a five star hotel. We loved the loft room for the kids, and the wrap around verandah and heated pool. The staff are what makes it special - Malcolm the host is superb and gets the mix of privacy and good company just right! Our kids loved the bushmanspaintings and fishing!

We recently spent the week-end at Bushman's Kloof and we thought it was beautiful and very serene. A little rain which surprized us but BK reacted adjusted and we had just a fine time. The Bushman Art was spectacular. The diversity of the area great. If you are looking for lots of animals they aren't there but the beauty and history of the area is worth the visit.

Room Tip: If you can afford it do the suites, but there is nothing less than deluxe rooms at the worst and the...

From the warm welcome we received on arrival at the Lodge, everyone (including the very well-trained and efficient staff) were there to thoroughly spoil us and to make our stay in those lovely surroundings of the Lodge, very memorable.
We felt very priviledged to spend this important date in the peaceful surrounds of Bushmanskloof.

Our weekend away at Bushmans Kloof totally superseded our expectations. I knew it was going to be a great weekend away from what other friends and family had told me, but what lay ahead was far better than what could be explained in words. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we sadly had to drive away, we felt like Royalty. The food was unique and an experience to look forward to at every meal, and the accommodation and surreal surroundings were pure bliss to enjoy all day long. For me the main highlight was the Rock Art guided tour which was extremely interesting and worth walking up at 7h30 for - and of course another surprise on route to the rock art site was a stop for coffee & a selection of fruit & muffins. What a way to start the day! I can't wait to visit Bushmans Kloof again soon.

Four-day honeymoon trip to Bushmans was everything we could have asked for. Excellent food, service and spa, and complete relaxation and tranquility. Simply put, it's the best hotel either of us have been to. Will be back as often as possible.

Room Tip: Deluxe suite with private suite is superb, with a wonderful (heated) private pool. Otherwise, one of...

My stay was not long enough! Tranquil, beautiful resort and surroundings, a place to relax and be spoilt. Staff were exceptional and could not do enough for me - thank you all.
As previous reviews, the conservations efforts were to be admired. Activities to do or just relax, perfect.
It is not a Game Reserve but would like to have seen more animals on the property.
A fair drive from Cape Town but scenery along the way takes your mind of that.
