I have been a long time fan of this wonderful boutique winery and farm restaurant lovingly owned and run by the charming Meyer and Beate Joubert. One is struck by the honest simplicity, old-fashioned charm and hospitality of Joubert-Tradouw. The most delicious food is freshly cooked and served in a proud and friendly way out of an old farm kitchen, and one can buy cheese, rusks, preserves and jams, as well as interesting art work.
The Joubert-Tradouw wines have received many top awards, and not without good reason. The Syrah is my favourite. Meyer took us on a free guided tour, explaining the ecology and history of the farm, and allowed us to taste wines from the barrel - most appreciated by my German friends.
