“FARM CUISINE AT ITS BEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

I have been a long time fan of this wonderful boutique winery and farm restaurant lovingly owned and run by the charming Meyer and Beate Joubert. One is struck by the honest simplicity, old-fashioned charm and hospitality of Joubert-Tradouw. The most delicious food is freshly cooked and served in a proud and friendly way out of an old farm kitchen, and one can buy cheese, rusks, preserves and jams, as well as interesting art work.

The Joubert-Tradouw wines have received many top awards, and not without good reason. The Syrah is my favourite. Meyer took us on a free guided tour, explaining the ecology and history of the farm, and allowed us to taste wines from the barrel - most appreciated by my German friends.

“Chance find - yum yum food & wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

Stopped here quite by chance. Delicious food. Wine from the estate. Beautiful setting and views. We had a salad and cheese sandwich (the cheese platter was unfortunately finished). Both were superb. So glad we found this place (by accident). Would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone travelling along this route.

“Very Good "light lunch" option combined with wine tasting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

We recently visited Barrydale as a 2 night stop for a break-away. We have been to Joubert Tradouw before for tasting but never lunch. We shared their "unplugged-platter for 2" and it was more than enough full of home made things, the canned peaches was the best and the live pate. The Chardonnay slightly wood matured is out of this world. Sitting outside with the fountain and bird in your ears as music is nothing but relaxing. A must stop while in Barrydaly, only do lunch and so does the Blue Cow. We never had dinner, but had a barbeque / braai at our accommodation under the stars! The Warm Water Bath resort also good for something different to do.

“Lunch after wine tasting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

We stop at the Joubert-Tradauw cellar to purchase wine on behalf of my sister and her husband. This resulted in a full blown wine tasting with further purchases of their very good red wines. We then proceeded to the outdoor lunch area where we were served the special platter for two. one has the option to order wine by the bottle or the glass. The food and wine was excellent.

“The best food we had on our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

We stopped here by accident after seeing the "platters" sign beside the road. The cheese platter was absolutely superb..my son, who is a burger aficionado, said it was the best he had ever had. And the ostrich was delicious. Having lunch outside with delicious wines was a highlight of our trip. This stop should've on everyone's itinerary.
