“Great experience ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

We staid two nights and enjoyed every minute off it

The horse riding was great with very good horses and professional guidance of Fabio. Amazing how close you get to the animals such as the zebra. Chamu gave us a wonderful bush walk with lots of knowledge about flora and fauna

The cuisine was much better than expected and the service staff well trained

My only comment is that a 5 star hotel in South Africa should have air con in the bedrooms. With the humidity it was quit hot and made it more difficult to sleep

a huge thank you to Isabella and her fantastic team for making our South Africa trip in December 2013 so worth remembering. A warm thank you to Chamu, the sundowner safari ride was simply a dream.

From food to service, lodge and especially my first horse riding lesson (yes I can almost trot now - thank you Isabella!!) everything was just perfect.

Laura is missing Sammi very much - we have to come back!!

warmest regards
the Stefan, Claudia and Laura Dangel

We have just come back from Pakamisa where we spent the most glorious and fabulous weekend we have ever experienced. From enjoying the setup of the place, the most stunning of locations overlooking some of the most beautiful views one can imagine, the amazing rooms and the best service we have experienced, we are more than convinced at that this has been the most amazing experience for us. We enjoyed a piece of paradise for sure. What remains uppermost in us is the quality of the service all round from Isabella and her team. From a friendly reception, a very welcoming staff and very knowledgable guides. Our guide for the bush walk was just amazing, our game drive tour guide was just so good and informative. We can't sign off within complementing the quality of meals. So much care was made to make us feel at home. That is something that we will carry with us. We wished we could have stayed longer but I am almost sure that we will be going back to this place.

We spent a week at Pakamisa, concentrating on riding horses. This private game reserve has many giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu and nyala, all of which can be closely seen from horseback. It helps this that this reserve is not used for hunting. In case you wondered, this isn't the limit of animals and I haven't mentioned the birds. Excellent horses and guides for varied pace riding. If you don't want to rdie, don't reject Pakamisa as game drives and walks are available plus a pool, archery and trips to fish and see the Big 5 elsewhere. Luxurious suites, gormet food (lots of game), attentative friendly staff and perfect hosts in Isabella and Anthony.
We will be back.

Room Tip: They are all superb suites. You could ask for a particular animal if this themed decor is important...

We have just returned from a South African adventure which included 3 nights at Pakamisa. It was absolutely heavenly. Enormous and luxurious individual lodges with verandahs overlooking the most spectacular views. Sun rise with the mist in the valley was just beautiful.
Nothing was too much trouble for Isabella and her team and yet they managed to make you feel like honoured family guests. The food was delicious. They even brought a cake and sang Happy Birthday in Zulu for my daughter's birthday!
Last but by no means least - riding beautiful horses in amongst the giraffe, long exhilarating canters through the bush led by Isabella, Moses and Isolde. We felt completely spoiled and we didn't want to leave!
If you want a truly relaxing and "uplifting" (Pakamisa means uplifting in Zulu) we can't recommend it highly enough!

Had the most amazing adventure in South Africa with my friend Tracy S, the highlight being Pakamisa. Isobella and Anthony were perfect hosts, attention to detail was superb, nothing could be faulted. Excellent guides Isolde and Moses, very well schooled horses, the wild life fantastic. Visited a neighboring reserve for big 5, lions incredible to be so close. It really was a very special holiday at this wonderful reserve in the Pongola mountains, I hope one day to return.
