“Good Budget Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We spent one night in Tucumcari on our way to California. The hotel was clean but very dated. The most important thing to us was that the beds were comfortable. The town is old and worn but we were not there for the sightseeing. If you are on a budget this is the place. The staff was very friendly. There is no pool, and the Wifi was pretty slow. I would stay again only if the Comfort Suites wasn't available. There are a bunch of really old motels and they don't look comfortable at all. If you have a choice of one of the old places or this hotel, I would definitely recommend the Econo Lodge.

Room Tip: The pictures on the Choice Hotels Website might be a bit deceiving. It's old, but comfortable.

Didn't mind this place at all...a little far from the main strip in Tucumcari, but I am sure most patrons have a car anyways.

Property is older, but still clean and comfortable. Includes breakfast, which is always a good extra.

The rooms are in desperate need of remodel. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting much for the price, but this was pretty poor. Even the continental breakfast was very weak. There was a waffle maker at least, and of course your two cereals and milk. The orange juice was not juice, it was a orangish flavored drink. No tiny bagels with individual cream cheese, just a loaf of the cheapest wheat bread you can buy with no butter. Bananas were available, and the breakfast was finished off with some small packaged honey buns. Overall... just a poor experience

Stayed one night on a tour. Booking in was ok but room pretty basic. No fridge, micro or coffee making machine. Glass window had been replaced by a piece of plastic.
Breakfast was pretty bad too. No snack machine.

While nothing stood out at this property, it was a clean, simple place to stay on a cross-country journey. It was affordable, just off the interstate, and having everything I needed for a quick stop.

The side of town where the motel is located is rather quiet, so one would have to drive a few miles to find a restaurant or gas station. Being a small town, though, that is not so much an issue.

If it wasn't for the super sweet desk clerk I would be mad. The rooms were dirty, I couldn't find my toothbrush then found they really keep all those things at the front desk for you like they say they do. Having to go to lobby for the tiniest cup of coffee was annoying. Internet DID NOT work. Doesn't look like it does online at all.

We were arriving late and we called ahead to let the know of a late arrival; when we arrived the hotel had set up the roll away bed including bedding when got to the room. My teenager pulled back the covers and went to bed. For the limited time we stayed at this hotel, we encountered no problems.
