Bill and Teri will make sure you have an incredibly comfortable and excellent stay at the Blue Swallow. The motel is sooo cool, especially at night with all the neon signs lit up. Hang out at the Pow Wow for food and drinks and a game of pool with very friendly locals. We wont forget y'all! Thank you!

From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. We were takin and showed our room before we paid for it, you can't get that everywhere. It's usually just a surprise. They gave us the military discount too but the rates are great either way. You really feel like you have stepped back in time with the look of the rooms and with the neon and the wonderful hospitality , the owner even took our pic under the famous sign, and yet there are still the modern conviences like WiFi. We would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone. Made our Route 66 honeymoon experience even better. The only thing I would add is a little trash can in the bathroom but I would stay again even without it. Awesome experience!

I needed a place to crash on my way to Texas, and Tucumcari was halfway. After reading reviews here, it seemed that the Blue Swallow was the most in keeping with the old days. And it was wonderfully true. Sure, the rooms are small and there is no coffee maker, I'm sure the same was true in 1950. The rooms were very clean and neat and actually character. I loved it and would stay again.
They even have little individual garages for each room!

Clean and basic. Tucumcari is overun with places (advertises 1200 rooms) to stay some of which are past there best. This one has the best neon sign!
Many of the motels and hotels are doing room with breakfast for around 40 dollars. Blue Swallow was 66 usd with no breakfast, no coffee machine, no hand towel only a bath towel and the checkout time is 10am so if value is up on your list you will choose somewhere else. Situated in the centre of town its allong the edge of the road so there is a degree of traffic noise. I;ll try somewhere else next time.
