“Surprisingly Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

This museum doesn't look very big from the outside and being in T or C and didn't expect much, but we love museums and thought we'd check it out. It's like the Tardis - so much bigger on the inside! It was a great museum with local history as well as cowboy history. I think even kids would enjoy it. Don't miss this museum if you are ever in T or C with at least 2 hours to kill.

“Totally Cool place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Who knew? From the outside it is hard to tell what you are going to experience, but go inside and take a look around it is fascinating! Lots of good history about the area, incredible pottery collection too. Of course I expected it to explain how that town got its name, and yep it sure did! There is some beautiful artwork to be seen as well, give yourself enough time, like 2 hours!!

“Looks dumpy but has an incredible collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

The Geronnimo Springs Museum was really four different museums rolled into on and covering several buildings. The pottery collection is one of the most diverse I have seen. There is a restored log cabin, a large area devoted to the name of the town, the fiesta and the history of the springs, some lovely murals int he western history sections, mammoth skull and saber tooth tiger teeth in the geology and natural history section. Outside there is a whimsical fountain running HOT water from the hot springs. The lady running the museum that day was a font of knowledge on what to see, suggestions for bird watching - one of the top ten areas int he state was less that four miles away, how to use the springs, surrounding ghost towns, etc. She also has a well stocked book store on the southwest. It was worth the time spent.

“packed with history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Visited museum once close to closing and learned I needed much more time to take it all in. So much to learn about the area, it inhabitants, it evolution and change of name of the town. wow! This museum covers it all from paleontology to sociology. Well done! The middle hall is still used for events. The information given triggers desire to learn more about the history of the area. Glad to have come back, because we spent a good 2 hours reading and getting to know families, their origin anf the mark they have left during their time. Do come and visit! Great place!

“Nice little gem!”

Nice depiction of the Truth or Consequences history (formerly 'Hot Springs') as well as, New Mexico history. The gift shop was a good touch for tourists.
