“Basic but fine.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stayed self-catering 6-13 October.

Hotel is in a great location around 300m from the lovely Amodores beach. The rooms are fine, spacious and they were cleaned daily. Pool was clean and well maintained. We didn't eat at the hotel as there are many fantastic and cheap restaurants to eat at along the beach or in Puerto Rico around 20 min walk or 5 Euro taxi away. Also a useful mini-market in the hotel itself or a Spar shop 100m from the main entrance.
From my dealings with them the staff were all helpful and friendly although I see others on here do not feel the same way. My 2 cents worth would be to try and attempt a little Spanish(it is their country after all) and smile when asking for something or maybe leave a tip once in a while even if you are All Inclusive.
The pool was really nice and there were plenty of sun loungers although Lots of young children(school?) running wild the week we stayed.
The hotel bar caters for All inclusive so we avoided it for the most part. I heard shrill screams from the pool area on Karaoke night although it could have been two cats fighting just the same.
So to summarise. Go self catering for as cheap a deal as you can get and eat out in the evenings. Use the hotel as a base to go to other areas/sights. You don't really need Air/con in October- March, but do get a safety deposit box. I Wouldn't really socialise in the bar unless you're all inclusive or like the tasteless beer before closing time at 11pm. Try smiling at the staff and maybe a word or two in Spanish for a more friendly response.
If you want your room cleaned, leave the' please clean room card ' on door handle.

Room Tip: Air conditioning is 50 Euro per week, but we did not need when we stayed early October. The rooms...

Stayed at the Mirador 4/10/12 - 11/10/12 all inclusive as a family of 4 in room A306 (Top Floor).
Positives:
Cleanliness in communal areas
Pool area- very relaxing and always got sunbeds supplied with comfy cushion
Weather - reaching 30 most days
Room view
Location of hotel being so near to the lovely beach
Jezz - good with the kids
Bright clean dining area

Negatives:
Food was quite poor quality but kept topped up
beds in front room uncomfortable
furnishings tired in places although clean
As everyone else have said have to pay extra for air con
Towels poor quality and bath towels small but cleaned if you put them in the shower for the cleaners
We would go back to the Mirador as great location but would go self catering as heard restaurants along the beach are good.
All in all a good holiday!

Room Tip: Go for top floor so you can leave window open at night as have to pay for air con.

the good. clean & friendly staff (not forgetting the occasional coakroach for company)
breakfast was also a good point .Amadores is a nice place with a good beach
the bad. this hotel is run on a shoe string budget. there was nobody to show us to our rooms when we
arrived late in the evening, neither was any food available ,pls note ,we were all inclusive
entertainment was only suitable for the brain dead.
it is not a place for young children or teenagers
the even worse my wife and i have travelled to many countries over the years & have stayed as all inclusive
guests many times, but! NEVER ,NEVER. have we been asked to pay for Air Conditioning as an
extra.
Evening food is appalling, & wine glasses are chipped & dirty

We spend two weeks in this hotel from 27-09 to 11-10-2012. It's not a 4 star hotel. Smelly towels. My sister had to sleep all week on a sofa .After week they changed for normal bed.Terrible staff will never smiles(just Silvia was nice).Never again for all inclusive-food was awful-every day the same-desert forget it. Snack bar- if you like chips and pizza every day ,and you need to hurry because they give us only one tray .All inclusive bar -shock 5 kinds of alcohol and they stopped serving at 11pm!!!Terrible service at the bar-not talking with you and not smiling at all.Fortunately, the weather was great. But we will never come back to this hotel and would not recommend anyone especially ALL INCLUSIVE!!!

Let's start with the positives: The view, the village, cleanliness and the size of the rooms is excellent!

Negatives: You have to pay 50 euros/week for air conditioning - NEVER with an all inclusive have we had to pay for air conditioning. Definate dampner!

Food: Seriously don't know where to start..... dreadful! We are very easily pleased travellers and have never complained before, but the hotel appear to cater for 'junk food Brits' - although all guests would appear to be British and nobody like the processed/reheated slop that was served up every lunch time and every evening!! We had to eat out 4 times during the fortnight we were there at our own cost, purely to ensure that we had a decent meal every few days! The restaurants down on the beach are absolutely fantastic!!!

The room was only cleaned properly once in a fortnight - although the rest of the hotel was spotless!

We were above reception and EVERY day the deliveries commenced at 5:00 am and they were VERY noisy and completely ignorant to the fact that there are bedrooms above......

The sunbeds being unlocked at 09:00 - 09:30 is a fantastic idea - stops people bagging them at stupid o'clock. The pool area is also cleaned daily - can't fault it.

This hotel has the potential to be fantastic - just a few tweaks and they'll be there!

The room was excellent, the views over the bay lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked self catering at this aparthotel as we like to go out and about and try out the local food and may be come back later for a drink at the bar. What a shame therefore that it's run primarily as an All Inclusive as bar times were limited for paying guests as they stopped serving at 11pm, presumably when the All Inclusive drinks stopped. So the usual pleasure of relaxing and having a drink late at night by the poolbar was denied us. Thomas Cook have also turned it into Butlins so even if you stopped by for a drink you were subject to bingo, karaoke and other horrible entertainment. If you like to spend you holidays at a hot Butlins go, if you like to see the country and see the local culture and eat Spanish and Canarian food book somewhere else or hire a car and get out like we did.

My husband and I stayed here in Sept 2012 and would definitely go back again. The weather was great and we chilled out for 2 weeks. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious and so clean and the view was brilliant I couldnt find anything to complain about, well maybe 1 thing, we thought alll the kids would be back to school and was totally amazed how many parents had taken there children out of school, so that was the end of peace and quiet although the stay was 1st class. We went up to the Europa each night and had some great food, self catering is definitely the way to go. There isnt 1 negative thing I could say, we were made very welcome by all the staff and they went out of there way for you.

Room Tip: We were in A203 good size apartment and good views
