The Laughing Horse is NOT the place to stay if you are conventional and are looking to be pampered on your vacation. I would characterize it as a throwback to the 1960's. We stayed in the "penthouse" during 9/03, which had room enough for seven sleepers. The penthouse is the only room that has its own private shower/toilet. Bed was comfortable. The south wall is all window panes so unless you wish to rise with the sun, bring your eye shades. The only problem we had was that there were the live insects that found their way into our room. It's really a funky (in a good way) place, the people are down to earth nice, and they even let you rummage through their refrigerator. It is a pet-friendly environment. For the size of the room and the price, it is not a bad deal.
