“Excellent gourmet breakfast and great hospitality in a genuine old adobe with beautiful gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2009

My husband and I stayed here over 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time. Rochelle met us even though we arrived late and her warmth and friendliness made us feel so welcome. The gardens are beautiful in the summer, perfect for sharing a glass of wine and relaxing. The adobe is over 100 years old and furnished in classic Santa Fe style, you couldn't ask for more authentic lodgings. Also conveniently located, the Taos plaza and main drag for Taos galleries/shopping is an easy walk so you don't have to pay extra for parking fees. Also within walking distance of restaurants.

The gourmet breakfasts are outstanding, e.g., fresh fruit salad with yogurt dressing, home-made apple/turkey sausage with a poached egg & delicious sauce, excellent coffee, great selection of teas... wow. You eat "family style" with the other guests, which is a nice way to have a short but pleasant visit with them.

The only thing to be aware of is, it's an old house, with abundant charm but also the expected characteristics of an old house with wood floors - i.e., you can't walk without the floor squeaking alot so if you stay in the main building like we did, you're going to hear others and vice versa. Also, our bed squeaked every time we moved and wasn't all that comfortable. But, this was a minor drawback compared to all the other positive things. We had a great time there and would look forward to staying there again.

We were graciously met by Rochelle at the door and she truly set the level for our visit. Meals were absolutely delicious, the afternoon snack was tastefully done, the rooms were beautiful in every part of LaPosada de Taos! Truly relaxing atmosphere whether you were in your private bedroom, sharing the common rooms, or sitting in the abundant courtyards. We look forward to our next visit!

I can't wait to go back to La Posada de Taos. Brad and Michael provide a warm atmosphere by attracting a wonderful diversity of guests. Sharing Michael's great breakfasts of melon with a bit of mint and clover honey and going on to his delicious housemade granola with superior yogurt is a great beginning to your day. I stayed in 'La Casa' which is the only freestanding little house, but any of the other rooms are extremely comfortable.

I've always had a problem with Taos. It's super snooty, and really they have no reason to be. I've been there 3 times, and I've hated where I've stayed, including some well-known places. But finally, I've found La Posada de Taos. It's a b & b, the breakfasts are great, the property is fantastic and fantastically located, and the staff are incredibly helpful and informative. Stay there, you won't regret it.

La Posada de Taos is a breathtakingly beautiful bed & breakfast (Taos' first bed & breakfast), owned by two of the most gracious hosts ever. We stayed in Lino, which has a large shower, kiva and private patio. The bed was so comfortable we hated to get out of it in the morning. Brad & Michael have left no stone unturned--they have thought of everything that you could possibly ever need. There were even q-tips and packets of makeup remover in the bathroom! We had WiFi high-speed Internet access in our room, which was great. The adobe walls are very thick and you can't hear anyone else in the house. It's very quiet. The Inn is completely decorated with furnishings and art from local shops and artists. It is located within walking distance of the historic Plaza, where you can find wonderful shops and restaurants. Taos Pueblo is only a short drive away, as is the Taos Ski area and the Rio Grande Gorge bridge. There are beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Michael prepared a huge, delicious gourmet breakfast and the presentation was lovely enough to be in a cooking magazine. We hated to leave and can't wait to go back. If you are planning a visit toTaos, La Posada de Taos is the place to stay!

A very nice historic B&B located a short couple of blocks from the plaza. Brad and Michael are the knowledgeable, gracious hosts at La Posada De Taos. Our room was very spacious, inviting, clean and comfortable with easy access to a private, shaded garden patio. Michael deserves bragging rights for his breakfast creations and caters to those with special dietary needs. The best blueberry and raspberry muffins ever! Thanks to Brad who is a wealth of information regarding the galleries, restaurants, surrounding history etc. and made sure our stay was most enjoyable. I highly recommend La Posada De Taos and hope to revisit again soon.

We stayed with Michael, Brad and Fritz (woof!) for a week at the end of April. We rented the honeymoon casita (which we highly recommend). Everything about our stay was excellent. Michael and Brad are very gracious hosts and spared no effort to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Michael's breakfasts were so filling and tasty that they typically lasted us until dinner. Brad had lots of tips about interesting things to see and do in Taos and in the surrounding countryside. The B & B is in a quiet residential part of town about a 5-10 minute stroll from the historic main plaza, shopping, galleries and restaurants. Our room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The enclosed courtyard of the B & B is a great place to relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine watching the hummingbirds feed while the windchimes gently serenade in the background. Sounds like just the place for a relaxing vacation, doesn't it? Believe me, it is.
