“Highly recommended for management, location and quality of accommodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2008

My wife and I spent a quiet Sunday night at this B&B. It is located just a few blocks from the plaza in Taos. We were treated most cordially by the owner and managers. We were very pleased with our room, for which we paid a reasonable price, with breakfast, and with the facilities. It was a great pleasure to stay in a B&B with outstanding management and which is constantly being improved. We hope we can return to Taos and stay at the Posada again.

We've just spent a 3 night stay at La Posada. It's beautiful, great room (Beutler), wonderful hospitality, delicious breakfast, close enough to plaza & restaurants to walk. But you need to know - if you come in the summer, there's no air conditioning. Most of the time, I'm sure it's not a problem because of the dry, cool climate. But if you're used to a cool house like we are, it's pretty miserable when it's 85° and 55% humidity. In fact, most of the stores, restaurants, etc. in Taos are the same way. They have evaporative coolers, but it doesn't work when it's humid. We were a little put off by the fact that it's at the very end of a very tiny dead-end street, but it's very quiet and the property is lovely with places to sit and relax outdoors. We enjoyed our stay in spite of the fact that we were very hot at night.

  • Liked — Lovely place.
  • Disliked — No air conditioning!

The comfort of our guests is paramount at La Posada de Taos. Unfortunately, unless a guest informs us that they are uncomfortably warm, we assume that the two-foot thick adobe walls of this historic home are working as they have for over a century. With an elevation of 7000 feet above sea level, temperatures in Taos rarely exceed 80 degrees for more than a few hours in the afternoon. In fact, this summer has been one of the coolest on record here with temperatures dipping below 60 degrees by ten o'clock every night and morning lows dipping into the upper 40's each day. We were surprised that these guests were hot, but if they had informed us, there were any number of things we could have done to make them happy.

Wow! What a gem! Snuggled in between quiet houses, this B&B has old world charms and modern niceties! Free wireless internet throughout the place, large main room to hang out & read, knowledgeable inn keepers who love Taos as much as their guests and wonderful artwork on the walls - some by the inn keepers themselves! We plan to return with friends!

We stumbled upon this oasis on the outskirts of Taos. The owners are lovely. The blue corn pinon pancakes for breakfast were delicious. The owners actually sit down to breakfast with you and offer a wealth of information for white water rafters or outdoor seeking adventurers. We had an extraordinary stay here and would definitely consider staying here again. The walk into town was easy. The neighborhood is quiet. La Posada is a treat and felt a bit like a home away from home.

  • Liked — The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. The decor was New Mexican in flair. It had character.

Returned last week from a trip to New Mexico with a friend. The best experience we had was at the La Posada de Taos. From the wonderful reception, to the lovely guest room, to the gormet breakfast each morning, to the homemade cookies each afternoon, to the lovely gardens watching the birds, it was an unforgetable experience. Bradley and Michael made us so welcome and were perfect hosts. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to stay there again. It was a truly wonderful experience!

This was a great experience. It was the highlight of our New Mexico experience. The inkeepers, Brad and Michael, made this a memorable visit. We also had an opportunity to meet the new owner, Sandy, and she was most gracious. Have told all our friends about this wonderful, secluded hacienda in the middle of town! Can't sing this B&B's praises enough.

This adobe hacienda-style B&B has a new owner and new innkeepers who are welcoming, helpful and very engaging. The ambiance is quite relaxing, with guests encouraged to enjoy the sunny courtyard and the spacious living room with its cushy western-style chairs and sofas. The breakfast is a delight every morning, both healthy and filling. We just spent 8 days in New Mexico, and our three nights at La Posada de Taos were the best part of the trip.
