“B&B of Enchantment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

My wife Lynne and I had our first trip to New Mexico and decided to stay at this B&B due to the reviews it received. We were not disappointed. From the first greeting from Rose (who also makes the most delicious gourmet breakfast's) to the very personable innkeepers of the B&B, Michelle and Brian (who were both very informative about the area, showing us where to sitesee and who took care of us by making delicious appetizers in the late afternoon and by making reservtions at nearby resturants and making reservations for our massage and Hotair Ballon ride. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed meeting Lorraine and Diane who made our room comfortable and kept it well stocked, and Estaban and Jose who manicured the grounds. All were professional and well informed of the sites, shopping and eateries in the area. The inn was beautiful and quiet but within walking distance to the historic district and shopping. We thrououghly enjoyed our stay

Room Tip: We stayed at the Territorial and was very comfortable

After traveling by train to Santa Fe, it was nice to finally get to Taos and this beautiful hotel.
They have a full range of spa and massage services.
The hotel is surrounded by tress and is 2 1/2 blocks from historic Taos Plaza.

This was our first trip to Taos and we loved staying at Casa de las Chimeneas! Our room, the Rio Grande, was lovely, comfortable, and well-stocked. The staff were most knowledgeable and gracious. We took their recommendations for nearby restaurants and side-trips and were very pleased with our experiences. Appreciated the on-site guest laundry and the complementary snacks. Homemade breakfasts and late afternoon appetizers were awesome! Would love to come back sometime when the gardens are in full bloom. As it was, the bright yellow cottonwood trees surrounding the property were beautiful! We definitely would come here again!

This was our first visit to Taos, and to the Casa. The inn, grounds, and staff made our visit both fun and memorable. Good location, and a staff that really made you at home were real high points of our visit. We would return next week if we could!

this inn is beautiful rooms or mini suites were outstanding the breakfasts and evening pre-dinner apps again were spectacular. the staff were superior friendly helpful.
we just loved this place.
only draw back that should not stop anyone from going here. a car is a must the area surrounding the inn is not good for walking in drive to the plaza and restaurants.less then 5 min. walking is noy a good idea.
we shall return again as we could not stuff enough of this great part of the country into the time we had. go go go each turn of the road is a scenic wonder.

Room Tip: get a room with sitting area and fireplace.

Wife and I had a fine trip to Taos (our first). The stay at Casa de las Chimeneas helped make it all fun. Inn was great (liked the fact they had clothes washer and dryer available) and staff was perfect!! Location made for easy walking into Plaza area. They have their act together!!

My wife and I live in Carlinville, IL. We've been to Casa twice, the first time on a driving vacation throughout New Mexico and Arizona. The last time, in May 2011, it was on an impulse; we flew to Santa Fe to visit it and Taos, largely because we love Casa as a B&B and Taos as a town. After our first visit and before this last one, my wife took our daughter to NM and to stay in Taos at Casa, for the same reasons.

Casa is wonderful in all respects: Excellent food that's varied and well prepared; an atmosphere of intimacy; personal, accommodating attention from the knowledgeable staff; beautiful rooms with a creative southwestern decor (including the colorful, tiled bathrooms); and a "remote," secluded feel, even though it's just a minute or two from the plaza. It also offers massage and other spa amenities for those who want to indulge.

Casa is in our top three best B&Bs nationwide. We travel a lot and stay at B&Bs whenever we can. Casa is up there with one in Sedona, AZ and another in Wilmington, NC.

The only possible negative is the management's apparent decision to not offer a light meal in the evening. Their rationale is sound: guests want to and should take advantage of the many excellent restaurants in Taos for dinner. But the light evening meal was nice for those of us who have big lunches on top of the great Casa breakfasts and don't have the appetite to go out for a traditional dinner. No matter. We will be back.
