“A vibe from another time and place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2011

My friend ordered a flavored coffee and I had an "organic" ice cream cone. Both were fine tho we did not return again during our week stay in Taos.
The place has 2 rooms and a nice patio area. Young people were using the outside area; they were smoking something pungent. Inside, one person was using a computer and appeared to have been parked for awhile. Another person was talking on a cell and talked during our entire visit.
The place has lots of pictures on the walls and the bathroom walls are decorated. The server/barista was nice enough. The vibe was of another time and place. It had a fusty feel.

“Compassionate coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011 via mobile

Exquisit service, atmosphere etc., but the proof is in the baristas...perfect shots everytime. The presentation of espresso like fine wine. Well worth every moment to experience a perfect 'moment'. Take pictures with your mind.

“Mediocre at best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2011

Maybe we were just unlucky. The (barely civil) barista seemed to think that she was good because she had been doing it for a long time. I think not, so maybe it's time to go back to basics. Our lattes were lukewarm and watery. Perhaps I'm picky because I live in the Northwest, where I pay much less for a much better coffee (or maybe not, because I did get a pretty good cappuccino at Albuquerque airport).

The decor and the location are nice though. I suppose that with so many tourists around, this place doesn't need to worry about repeat business.

Quaint place to chat with locals and see the taos hippy crew. Had a coffee and read the paper for an hour and didnt feel any pressure to leave or buy more.

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

Found this place by accident. It is a really interesting cafe. Some of the customers just seemed to be hanging out there and not actually eating or drinking anything - just playing chess or looking at the computers. They had some intersting artwork on the walls. We had some very nice toasted sandwiches and an interesting converstaion with one of the customers who told us he was 90 (he was one of the ones playing chess). Well worth a visit.
