“Good, but there are better restaurants in Taos”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

We ate dinner at the Alley Cantina and it was good, but there are so many other great dining options, I probably would not go back. My son and I shared nachos which came with generous dollops of sour cream and guacamole. My sister-in-law had the enchiladas and she said they were good. My brother had the carne adovada and he was really disappointed. Our server was not terribly friendly or attentive. This seems like a fun place to go for drinks, shoot some pool, and listen to music, but for great Mexican food try Orlando's or Michael's Kitchen.

“Good, cheap, fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

This is a great bargain for really good food just off the plaza. We went there for dinner twice. The total, with beers was just over 30$

“Just so-so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Very slow service--not enough wait staff. Food just ok! We had a quesadilla that was ok but loaded with raw onion. Enchiladas were just ok-from a regular consumer of them! Won't go back!

“Save yourself the trip”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

What a horrid experience. We walked in and none of the staff acknowledged our presence. We finally flagged down a waitress who told us to just seat our selves. The only table we could find was in the back. We then had to flag down another waitress to let her know we actually came to eat.

The food was horrendous! The queso was nothing more than lukewarm Cheez Wiz. In New Mexico no less. That should have been our first clue. Nothing in this place was fresh- it was all pre-cooked and and warmed up. The ceasar side salad was obviously from a bag. The tortillas were purchased from the local grocery store. The "brisket" was nothing more that the heat-in-a-tray variety; it was definitely not homemade. The nachos with meat were a complete joke. There was maybe three slivers of beef and three slivers of chicken. Once again, this wasn't chicken that was cooked on the spot. It was obviously packaged meet.

The waitress, after we first prodded her, was adequate, but she could not make up for the poor food.

Stay away!

“Perfect hideaway Alley Bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Sat outside all night in the Alley. Fantastic view out into the plaza. Felt like a secret hiding place bar.
