“Worth the Wait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

We actually ate at Michael's twice on our fairly short Taos vacation. We stopped in for a late dinner one night and again for breakfast on our way out. For dinner, our party of 5 had Enchiladas with red and green sauce, Strawberry Banana Pecan Pancakes, Atole-Pinon Pancakes and the enormous Burrito for dinner. Each meal at Michael's can probably feed two. The Atole-Pinon pancakes were particularly good as was the burrito and enchiladas. On our way out of town, we stopped for breakfast and had french toast, pecan pancakes, a blueberry waffle and the breakfast enchilada. Again, everything was great; so much food.. We saved a little room and had a basket of sopapillas. Expect to wait, but the food is great.

“Comfort Food at it's finest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

At the end of the main road heading towards the Pueblo is Michael's Kitchen.
A wonderfully cozy restaurant of pineboard walls and cowboys. There is a display case full of mile high pie, donuts and sticky buns made fresh on the premise. Their southwest fare is flavorful and hearty. My favorite is the house made sopapillas served with honey. They also make a great bread for sopping up the delicious red or green chile served with your chile relleno. Great for breakfast on your way to the Taos Pueblo or lunch after visting the Pueblo!

“Good tasting food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is a good place to eat in Taos. The chile relleno and enchiladas were great! and service was also good. Prices are moderate. The restaurant is located in the Taos Inn and adjacent is a bar where you can listen live music.
Overall I would recommend the place.

“Fed an army of picky teenage photography students”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Darn good vittles. Great prices. Genuine atmosphere to boot (none of that faux southwest faire you see around Taos eateries).
We had a Suburban load of hungry students from Oklahoma on a photography excursion around NM. There wasn't a single non-picky eater among them, and somehow, they all walked out of Michael's satisfied.
I had the veggie omelette -- more V than O, which is how I like it. House salsa is decent. Veggies were all fresh, nothing out of tin.
Service was spot on for such a large group, and a short stroll over to the bakery is a worthy endeavor for photo ops alone.

“Always a good choice in Taos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

This is a great, old fashioned Southwestern diner with consistently great food. No fancy decor here, just solid food.
