Description: The is a new restaurant which replaced Ogilivie's right on the Plaza in Taos. It is a casual restaurant, with a mune that reflect it's SM location, though is by no means "Mexican" completely. WE had a combinations of startes and salads, all of which are excellent; The Bison Sliders were supurb. The balcony overlooking the Plaza is a wonderful place to watch the activity in the Plaza - the only outdoor eating on the Plaza. They have a full bar, and excellent staff who are all very jazzed about being part of this new venture. It is a definite place for a simple but interesting meal.

Nothing fancy, but good tap Beer selection and great Margaretta's. Green Chille Stew and Bison burgers were excellent. Went back two days in a row.

“Enjoyed it, but not to die for.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2011

The atmosphere is nice, though sound carries throughout. The drinks selection is good (wine, beer and liquor) the menu is small but reads well. Gotta warn you, it seems that the kitchen doesn't care though. I had no food that was good, it was eh, ok or not good. I was served wings that were still frozen in the middle (tasty though), steak wasn't well trimmed, oysters were a little dirty and I had a chicken sandwich that seemed like a ball of chicken because no one flattened the breast. Service at the bar was very slow and I watched people stand at the door wait to be seated for long times. The host was running food, clearing tables and running around doing to much to great the guests in a timely manner and the bartenders were also always engaged in to much work to give a high level of service. I still was happy to be there and was overall satisfied but I felt that may have been because of a lack of options nearby.

“Wish Ogolvie's was still there, this place kinda sucks”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2010

Nice selection of tap beer, and a nice atmosphere...but that is where it ends.

Water tasted like it came right out of a swimming pool, heavy chlorine taste...nearly undrinkable (you guys ever heard of a filter?). The uninspired menu had very little selection (but of course lots of catch phrases to make it sound amazing). I chose the 'ground sirloin' tacos which were bland and greasy. Salsa was pretty flavorless, and came served in a tiny cup. Nachos had a little more going for them (my Dad ordered them so I tried them), but nothing special by any means. I really wish the previous restaurant was still there, it was SO much better. Oh well. I give this place a year, but who knows...lots of dumb people out there (McDonalds is still popular).

“Nice options on the menu.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2010

We went here for lunch. The tomato bisque and open face grilled cheese were nice on a cool day. Fish tacos were quite tasty too. Overall the menu was pretty interesting and the food pretty good. The atmosphere is more modern and not traditional "New Mexico" but it is nice.

“Good food, great deck, way too much "darlin' "”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2010

Went there twice, once for an early dinner, once for lunch. 2nd time learned to order off the appetizer list -- portions are huge! Food was flavorful, well prepared with just enough of a twist to make it spec ial without being over-the-top inovative just to be innovative. The deck overlooking the plaza is lovely, especially on a sunny fall evening. Service on my first visit was absolutely excellent, second time not so much: server kept pouring on the fake endearments. My husband can call me darlin', my mother can call me sweetie, my restaurant server can call me ma'am -- or nothing. Management, please take note for your next service training. Cutesy isn't cute - ad it certainly is not professional.
