“Long term stay at Taos Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

We stayed here for the entire summer till our house was ready - then switched to storage (without having to move) till we could move the RV to ABQ. The staff were sooooo accommodating and friendly. My dogs really liked the extensive walking park with plenty of handy trash receptacles all around. The place is very clean and extensively planted (remembering that this is the high desert). Great views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We have a 40' 50 amp rig and can't always find plug in storage service available.

Room Tip: Didn't stay in cabins or use kids' activities

We only stayed one night due to having to get a tire repaired but we would stay there again. We have a big rig so that's our first priority. They were able to accomodate us and we were able to maneuver. They had all amenities. The location is close to town (but you still have to drive into the heart of town)

Tent camped one night while passing through town. Bathrooms very clean. Meticulous landscaping. Everything about this place tells you it's clearly maintained with pride. Well done! I don't think the 1 or 2 pretty negative reviews are about the correct place.

This is an older campground that has been well maintained and is very clean. It is easy to find and within walking distance of several good local restaurants, as well as a great hardware store. The visitors center and old town Taos, as well as Rancho de Taos, are less than 3 miles away. The check in staff person was pleasant and informative. The sites were very level and had plenty of room for a big rig with tow vehicle. The dog walk area is a really good size, maybe an acre and a half, with benches to sit on while your pooch does it's thing. The bath house and laundry were both very clean and well lit, as well as well maintained. This was a great place to stay while touring Taos and the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: Spots nearer the office are farthest away from any streets and therefore quieter.

Being Taos I wasn't expecting an oasis, but this place is pretty stark. That said the place is clean and well maintained. A little pricey perhaps and some highway noise. Showers and bathrooms are clean. Didn't meet the managers as we arrived late in the evening, however, the look and feel of the property says they care about it and work hard to keep it nice.

Taos is arid so don't expect much shade but the temps are mild, even in the warmest part of summer. The price is a bit high but the location is excellent. In our 5 stays over 10 years, usually for 4 nights, we typically end up on the 1st row near the restrooms. They are clean and well maintained. The sites are staggered so you don't feel close and concrete pads exist in the main section. I own a 28' 5th wheel. Getting in and out of the site and park is easy. You can purchase propane if needed. The Guadalajara Grill, south is nearby. They have great food at a reasonable price. Be sure to stop in at San Francisco de Asis Parish a few miles south in Rancho de Taos. Visit the church office and ask about the magical picture that changes in the dark. The church is one of the most photographed in the state and painted by Georgia O'Keefe. While there eat at the great Ranchos Grill for some of the best food in the area.

Room Tip: This is an RV park.

Easy to find, right off #68 HWY with a nice view of mountains in the distance. Close to downtown. Pretty quiet. Some consideration has been given to landscaping and each site is nicely distanced from the next. Each has concrete pads surrounded by rocks/gravel. There is a picnic table in each site and a grill for cooking. It has clean restrooms and showers and offers a laundry room which has 4 washers (one of which was out-of-order) and 3 dryers. They did an ok job of washing/drying. There is a small playground for the kids.
At first glance it’s very clean. But looking around our site our it was kind of dirty with cigarette butts, bottle caps and some food under the picnic table as well as almost a whole bag of chips crushed underneath a bush. We were there in off-season and only a handful of other RV’s so how hard is it to keep the place clean? AND … my big complaint … as with so many RV parks … they offer free wi-fi but it does not work! You have to go right into the office or laundry to connect. When the staff was asked about it apparently “no one else is having problems”. Hmmm … we spoke to other campers and they have the same problem as us so it’s not just us. Why can’t these places get it?? These days it’s VERY important for people to be able to stay in touch while traveling! Fairly pricey at $40+ even with our Good Sam Discount!
